Where to order the IVF meds
I am going to have my RE start ordering my meds. I'm out of pocket so I'm looking for the cheapest (legit) pharmacy.
I called/looked around at: FreedomFertility.com, Avella.com, Metro Drugs, Apthorp and Walgreens.
I'm thinking of ordering Menopur from Freedom Fertility since it's quite a bit cheaper than the other places w/ a rebate. For all my other meds, I'm thinking of Walgreens b/c they have a program where for every $1,000 you spend, you get $100 back.
Did anyone order from Walgreens in Summit, NJ and Freedom Fertility? Thoughts or experiences? Thanks.

Re: Where to order the IVF meds
I've used both. I had coverage though. Freedom was easier.

Where to order the IVF meds
I used Freedom when I had insurance and it was easy. I won't have coverage this time around so I'm interested in what people have to say too...

Where to order the IVF meds
I used Kings in Brooklyn and now need meds for my pregnancy and using metro in the city. I would call if you have the time to each of them and price out each med. kings was going to be 3800 for the type of PIo I needed and I paid 3.80 at metro. No idea. But all of my ivf meds were done through Kings. ( all oop)

PIO is progesterone in oil right?
I was told I would start taking progesterone shots about a day after egg retrieval until my pg test. If the pg test is positive, I'd continue to take progesterone shots for certain # of weeks (but forgot the exact time- maybe for another 3 weeks).
But as for taking PIO shots during IVF, I don't think I'm doing that. My meds include follistim, menopur and ganirilex (to be added around cd6) and then the HCG.

I did call around. They are mostly comparable in price. I think I'm going to use Metro Drugs. They have a location in Manhattan and I feel comfortable knowing that I can pick up a refill if needed soon.

Re: Where to order the IVF meds
Make sure you also ask your RE - I was out of pocket too but I was able to get a lot of my meds from them (women donate back what they don't use).

Re: Where to order the IVF meds
I ordered out of the country and it was almost half the price. Some of the drugs have different names but they are the exact same thing. I used Fertility2u in the United Kingdom.
