Chromosome abnormality

Has anyone been tested and ended up with Chromosome abnormality?

My numbers were slightly higher than normal, tonight i have an appointment with the doctor to discuss this issue. I'm not sure what to expect, if anyone has any information, please feel free to share.

If it matters, i'm 10 weeks.

Thanks.

Chromosome abnormality

Theyll recommend an amino or CVS. I know a few people whose numbers said it was likely but the tests showed them to be fine.

Re: Chromosome abnormality

My #s were high for my triple screen for Edwards syndrome for my first pregnancy.

It was hard to become pregnant... So I repeated bloodwork first in a few weeks, which put me at low risk (and ultrasounds saw no abnormalities). He's 5 now & fine.

If I still had a high risk, I'd have an amnio.

Now, I would also trust those maternity 21 type tests a lot as a screen before amnio.

Good luck & I'm sorry. This was one of the hardest times in my life.

I was wondering why you had it done so early. Most Drs won't do b/w or sono till at least 11w.

Earlier this year i went to an RE and had 2 IUI's (both failed), and later got pregnant on my own, but the RE performed that test and thats how i knew.

Even an RE should know better than to run it so early.

Chromosome abnormality

I came back in the "grey zone" for a chromosomal abnormality after taking the DNA genetic testing. Odds of 1 in 2.5 for downs. I had a CVS test done at 14w where all came back normal. Many hugs - I'm sure all is likely ok, but know how truly scary it is.

Re: Chromosome abnormality

My nt scan and bloodwork came back abnormal. I ended up having a 1 in 5 chance of my baby having downs or some other chromosomal abnormality. I had a CVS and then later a fetal echo; since my cvs came back normal they thought the baby had a heart problem. Everything came back normal!! My baby was born completely healthy. My baby boy is 7 months old now and a happy and healthy little guy.

It was one of the hardest times in my entire life. I couldn't eat, sleep. It was awful.

But try to stay positive! I've heard of so many stories where people were told their baby would have chromosomal abnormalities and then everything was fine. Hugs!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
