Those who live in Miller Place
DH And I are in contract on a beautiful house in MP. I just didn't expect to be so far east. I preferred to be in the Port Jeff area, but we came across this house and went for it. I've never lived in MP but always hear good things. If anyone could give any insight (also regarding the school district) it would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

MP is a really nice and a lovely area. you can't go wrong with MP. Beach is awesome too. Good resale value. Has a great reputation.

Nice area, no library though. You can join Port Jeff or Comsewogue's library.
Also FYI, the Miller Place Pastaria offers carryout pizzas for $5 on Sundays ;)

Re: Those who live in Miller Place
Great area, SD rates very well - over 96% graduating with Regents diplomas and over 78% going to four year colleges. I have friends with children in that district. I have two friends who are police officers who chose to buy there for their kids to go. And the cops tend to be picky about where they live so that's a good sign! They make great neighbors
Good luck - you'll like it and the investment is great, wonderful resale value. Area holds it's value.

I also was nervous when we decided on a house in Miller Place - mainly bc of my commute to work. But we loved the house and the area so we went for it. I have NO regrets at all!!! I can't even compare the extra 20 minutes on my commute to how much we love the area and the schools. I think you will be very happy with your decision.

Re: Those who live in Miller Place
PJ is only 5 minutes away, I'm not sure why you think it is so far
Anyway, I grew up there. It has changed a lot, but I'd die to move back, but life didn't take me in that direction!

Raised in NO. My mom still there on a quiet cup-de-sac st. Wooded and tranquil town. It's developed a lot in past 20yrs but for the better. Good experience in school and the ppl are nice. Still close to beaches port Jefferson bisuneses in Rocky point vineyards/farms on north fork etc. I would live to move back but it's $$ and not close to my bf job. Good Luck.
