Dr. Bashian
Figured I'd post this here but I am not pregnant. I love my current OB but he is able 30 minutes away from my home. He's close to my work though. Dr. Bashian is literally walking distance from my house so that is why I am thinking of switching, and I've heard good things here. The wait times turn me off tho as a I would need afternoon or evening appointments. Does she do ultrasounds in house? My current OB does everything in the office and I almost never wait long.
Does anyone have any experience with her and VBACs? If I do switch OB's that would be a major consideration. My DS was breech and I had a planned c-section and would love a VBAC next time around.

Re: Dr. Bashian
I love Dr. B! I was there last week and was in and out within an hour and ten minutes including speaking with doctor, hearing HB, blood work and flu shot. They do in house sonos, and those wait time are very short. I was at a previous OB and for 17 years and I waited at least an hour 9 out of 10 appointments and then sometimes another 20 minutes in the room. First pregnancy so no experience with VBac

I have only been to dr Bashian once but I loved her. She is super sweet and worth the wait time.

Thanks. Maybe i'll just make an appointment for a gyn checkup to see. I do like my current OB and he's convenient to my job, but she's so close to my house. She delivers at LIJ right? How is her office staff? Are they responsive to calling you back if there is a problem? Does she deliver? Or do they use an on call service? That's the only other negative about my current OB, he is a solo practitioner and only in the hospital limited times. Plus he observes the Sabbath.

The wait time is no fun. They do in house Sono but not for the anatomy Scan. They send you to lij. Office staff is ok. Nurses are amazing.
As far as vbac, she will fully support you in trying. I had a section with my first, she wanted me to vbac for my second, but I didn't make it to the end and I was fine having another section

I did not use Dr Bashian, but wanted to give you a heads up that when I had my kids (in 2013 and 2014), her practice and my Drs practice work together in terms of delivery, so you are not guaranteed to have her deliver. Just something you may want to keep in mind. I love my Dr (Dr Sturim - who happened to be on call when I delivered my first) but hated the other dr that was in the rotation who happened to be the one to deliver my son

I used her with my DD in 2013 but switched early this year when I was pregnant with DS. She's sweet but her wait times are insane. If you're willing to wait (I wasn't since I had a DD that was 18 months old) then she may work out for you.
