Sorry just a few more RE questions
Sorry- I apologize I'm so new at this. First of all thank you to everyone who gave me RE recommendations. I feel confident I have made a good choice to use Gold Coast. So my questions are: Can I just call to make an appointment? Do I need a referral if my insurance doesn't require one? Like does my obgyn have to write a letter? I have a log standing diagnosis of pcos since I was 13 so I have a ton of medical records. I was given clomid by my obgyn- did it this one round and I felt so sick (back in September). I still never got my period and had severe abdominal pain. Not pregnant just a bunch of cysts. I feel lost and know I should have used a RE before starting clomid. Lesson learned and at least we only lost a month. So do I just call for the appointment and state I have such and such diagnosis and work with such and such obgyn? Sorry I'm sure it's simple I just don't want to go about things in a backward manner. I also have to call my insurance just to ensure I don't have to use my infertility coverage for an appointment.
Thanks for listening! :)

Re: Sorry just a few more RE questions
I am a patient at Gold Coast. Dr. Palter & the staff are amazing. You can just call for an appt and they will e-mail you all the paperwork to fill out. It's very comprehensive! If you don't need a referral then you can just go ahead and make the appt. They will most likely verify your insurance for you & let you know your responsibility. Then your first appt you will sit down w/ the dr and do a full history. You can tell him all about your previous experience with pcos & clomid, etc. good luck.

Re: Sorry just a few more RE questions
just call and make the appt. they will take some info from you over the phone regarding insurance, etc.
then when u go for the consult your dr will go over everything.
they will probably ask for your medical records from your current OB/GYN so they have all of that prior to your visit

I am a patient there also, just starting my first IVF cycle. You can just call and make your appt. If your insurance doesn't require a referral, you don't need to give them one.
Good luck!
