Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
Got my BFP this morning...woohoo!! I'm just trying to figure out how to calculate my due date. My LMP was Sept 12. I got a positive opk on cd 21 and I think I ovulated on cd 22 which was Oct 3. When I use the calculators online I get June 18 when I use LMP and June 25 when I use ovulation date. I obviously haven't seen my doctor yet so I'm not sure what they will say for this situation. Has anyone ever had this happen before? Which date should I be using?

Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
They will most likely base it off of your sonogram. With my first, I ovulated late. The difference in the due date was only a few days but the day I ovulated matched up with the sonogram measurements so I was given a later due date. It depends on the Dr though. Congrats on your BFP! Happy and healthy 9 months!

Re: Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
I ovulate later as well, and I haven't been to the dr. for a sono for this pregnancy yet so I'm not sure how the due dates will match up, but for DD, the date based on the sono matched up to the date I ovulated, but the dr.'s office used my LMP as it was only a few days apart.

You don't use any date. Your OB will tell you.

Re: Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
I have a due date based on my LMP and one based on the sonogram. I have no idea when I ovulated.
I thought I was further along when I went in for the first sono, but based on first sono I'm due a week later than I thought based on LMP.
That said, at my next sono, they said I was dating a few days ahead of my due date based on first sono but they wouldn't change my due date.
Basically, due dates are just an estimate anyway.
They will date you on your sono most likely.... but it's just an estimate.

Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
Mine was based on my sono. I knew I ovulated late and the sono confirmed it- going by my LMP would have put me a full week off.

Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
I figure my sono will match up with my ovulation date, so I guess I'll just use that date. I understand that it's all an estimation, it's more for me to have a date in my head. Thanks for all your input.

Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
They will use your last period until your 12 week scan. At that scan they do a lot of measuring and will adjust the date at that time if need be.

Re: Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
They will go by size in sonograms.
I have a 40-day cycle so I'm way off. With my first dd, they used my lmp to set up the first "8 week" appt, and I was actually 2 weeks behind what they thought and there was no heartbeat yet (there was one a week later). For this pregnancy, I lied to the receptionist and when asked my lmp, I really told her the date that was 2 weeks before I ovulated. For example, I know I ovulated on April 12, so I told her my lmp was March 29, when in reality it was around March 16.
Eta: the measurements put me at the due date according to calculations with my opk, not my true last period.

Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
Yes, they base it off the sono. My due date is 7 days after what it would be using my LMP.
The sono is also more accurate because you don't know when you implanted. I was positive I ovulated on CD18 (opk and temping) and my measurements put me 2 days later.

Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
I posted my response on TTC board but my DD per my first ultrasound was in line with when I ovulated, not my LMP. I get why it's important to know before you go to the doctor because they ask you how far along you are to make your appointment.

This pretty much! I also end up delivering 5 days "late" but since I ovulated late it was probably right on time.
Congrats!

Re: Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
My ovulation date was off by almost a full week , my due date was changed twice by measuring baby on the first two sonograms. Just to mention, I'm not confident in the due dates since it's been 3 different ones already.
Congrats to you!!!!!!

Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
I have the same situation. According to LMP my due date is 4/17, and according to when I ovulated it's 4/24. But when I had my first sono, they can measure according to the size of the baby, and that came up 4/21, so that's what I'm going with for now. I'm sure with each sono it might change a little. That's what happened with my first dd.

Re: Due Date w/ Late Ovulation?
I always have long cycles and ovulate late so both times that I was pregnant I used my ovulation day to figure out my due date. It was very accurate.
ETA - The due dates my OB gave me based on sonograms and baby's measurements aligned closely with my estimation using my ovulation day.

For online calculators, use your ovulation date. Then you will get a real due date from your OB.
I didn't ovulate until CD31 with my daughter, so I made sure to tell my OB that info because based on my LMP I would have been way further along than I actually was.
