Re: Hospital bag NOT baby related
I had surgery on Wednesday, and this is what I brought
Slippers Toothbrush Toothpaste Disposable wipes Lip balm Gas X strips (I had bariatric surgery) Hairbrush Hair tie Dry Shampoo Wash cloths Chargers Extension cord (definitely needed this) Ear plugs
i brought a change of clothes with me for discharge, because upon arrival I had to give everything I was wearing to my husband. So I was dressed and ready to go when he arrived to pick me up.
Good luck with your surgery and hope you have a speedy recovery

This is so helpful thank you. I hope you are feeling well!!! Did you just stay in the hospital gown? I thought I should pack pajamas and a bathrobe?

Re: Hospital bag NOT baby related
I had orthopedic surgery a few weeks ago. Packed toiletries hair comb and clips underwear socks pj cell phone, tablet and chargers pen and small notepad
I never wore the socks or the pjs, stayed in the hospital gown and wore the non skid booties provided. When I got out of bed I wore another gown turned around so my butt wasn't hanging out. Packed another bag for the rehab facility, I wore yoga pants and t-shirts during the day, hospital gown at night.
Good luck with your surgery.

Re: Hospital bag NOT baby related
I've had a few surgeries before and I usually just pack sweatpants/yoga pants and a couple tshirts. Underwear, toiletries, brushes, Phone/chargers . I wear the hospital gown and socks the first day or 2 until in able to get up and move around then I change into regular clothes

Yes, they required me to stay in a gown, because the surgical team came several times a day to check the incision sites. Also, I was required to wear the non skid socks while walking around the unit. They wouldn't let me change until day of discharge. You may be able to wear a robe though over your hospital gown

I was totally going to say Extension cord. Your own pillow if you love it and your best towel. Flip flops/shower shoes if they let you wash. Good luck on your surgery!
