sonogram tomorrow- kind of early..
i'll be around 5 weeks tomorrow and my RE wants me to come in for an ultrasound in the morning because of my previous ectopic. I was wondering if anyone here went that early and saw anything on an ultrasound? I heard that you can see the tubes clearly at that time, but I'm doubting anything would be seen in the uterus at this point..

My earliest sonogram was at 6wks and we were definitely able to see and hear little HB, though the picture itself just kind of looked like a squid. lol. Much better photo at 8wks. I'm not sure what you can see as early as 5wks though. Probably not very much. But it's good they're checking.

yea... she said she'll definitely be able to check the tubes. I'm assuming nothing else will be seen, though

yes i had a 5 week, you will just see like a black circle. and they are able to check to make sure its where its supposed to be. It will be an internal sono.

Yes I had a sono at 5 weeks and we saw the sac.
They want to make sure it implanted in your uterus.

This. At 5 weeks all they're really looking to see is that it's implanted in the right place (ie: your utuerus). Sometime in week 6 the heart will start beating. Amazing.

sonogram tomorrow- kind of early..
I had a sono at 4.5 weeks and we saw nothing, but that was sort of expected. I went back at 6ish weeks and we saw a sack but no HB. So you may be somewhere in the middle of that. I do remember though that at the 4.5 week appointment, my Dr. did make sure there was no ectopic, etc. so I totally get why your doctor wants to see you. Just don't get discouraged if you don't see much!

I went in at 4, 5 and 6 weeks and did not see the baby until week 6. At 5 weeks we just saw the sac.

saw the sac today, and the yolk sac. Apparently, ectopics can cause an empty sac to appear on the ultrasound. She said because she saw the yolk sac, that it is the real deal. I go back on Monday for another sono with my RE. She said she wants to just double check for no ectopic once more.
