facials
does anyone go on a regular basis?
I went once 11 years ago and completely broke out.my skin was terrible back then! ( wet n wild make up!) lol!)
I rec'd a gc to a highly rated spa 2 yrs ago and finally used it last Sunday. I broke out again but I want to be consistent with it.
I have pretty good skin, but want to smooth out the right side of my face. I did a facial with extractions and a microderm.
Is it normal to break out and look like sh!t for a week after??

Re: facials
I have had the same experience with facials and in fact they recommend that you do not have one two weeks before an event for this exact reason - "worse before it gets better" is the general consensus. Honestly I've never been that inpressed with facials. They are very expensive over time and I now just save the money now for Botox and Juvederm instead, which give me visible results and honestly would cost about the same as monthly facials over the course of a year. For acne, I just use prescription medication from my derm.

I have been going since I am 23. I don't break out at all. To me it so relaxing. I'm 44 and just stated the chemical peels.

Re: facials
I've only had about 4 in the past few years...I go through groupon though cuz they are just too expensive. But I love it, so relaxing & it really helps refresh my skin. I don't break out at all, but everyone is different. They also have facials for specific skin types so I would look into that.

Re: facials
The place I went has a deal on gilt right now so it's tempting. I think I'll just get it and try it again

Re: facials
yes very normal- a lot of times your skin gets worse before it gets better.
We have an amazing micro-derm tool which I use weekly for the same effect as going to a dermatologist-- it was created by Drs. Rodan + Fields. Very easy to use and removes 5000 dead skin cells at each usage. It has a patented doc-smart technology to vary the degree and duration of the exfoliation on each skin area (ex. very gentle around eyes).
Its also better than the clarisonic as it vacuums the dead cells off your skin rather than leaving them to clog pores and also can help with fine lines when paired with our redefine line!

Re: facials
I only break out sometimes from a facial and like PP has said, I've also been told never to do it before an event. Like it brings everything to a head.
I absolutely love facials. I was going monthly at one point (Before I had a mortgage lol) and my skin looked fabulous.
Thanks... now I'll be booking a facial
