when did you tell your boss you were expecting?

i know this has been asked alot, but I am curious to see what everyone did (especially teachers)

when did you tell your boss you were expecting?

I told my dept head at 15 weeks. I told my principal after my Level 2 at 20 weeks.

I was incredibly sick almost from the very beginning. Everyone in my office knew around 7-8 weeks bc I was CONSTANTLY running to the bathroom to get sick. There was no way to avoid telling them bc they need to back me up when I leave my desk. My boss knew before most of my family.

I work with my MIL so the cat was out of the bag pretty early, especially since we have the same boss- around 10 weeks I told our manager. After the NT scan at 12 weeks, pretty much everyone in the office knew. Gossip travels fast.

ETA: The other two girls in my dept. knew BEFORE my MIL since I was so sick and needed coverage for the desk while I ran back and forth to the ladies' room.

My boss is one of my best friends at work - She's the one that told me to take a pregnancy test, lol. So she knew the day I found out - even before DH.

With DD1, I told my boss at the time at 12 weeks (maybe 16, I'm not sure anymore).

My immediate supervisor and I are decently close and talk a lot. We were both TTCing at the same time so I told her right away. I didn't tell the bigger boss until I was around 13-14 weeks.

With #1 I was a preschool teacher. I just waited until I finished out my first trimester and then told my boss. I was around 13 weeks. It was a small company and I already knew I wanted to be a SAHM so I just wanted to give enough notice to allow them to find my replacement.

Now with #2 I run a small home daycare (babysitting for 3 families). I didn't tell any of them until after I had set up a trusted substitute to fill in for me during my short maternity leave. That was at 16wks.

i was 16w when i told them. My boss new i was doing IVF but i never told him that it worked.

DC #1- 10 weeks, because i tried to go to my appointments during lunch and came back late

DC #2- 14 weeks

I told work once I hit the 12 week mark.

12 weeks, maybe a little after. I show too soon to hold out any longer than that.

my office manager figured it out when I was around 5 weeks. She said between my more than usual frequent bathroom trips and how "tired" I looked... she had a feeling.

I told the rest of the office around 10 weeks. We're an office of only 12 ladies and my office manager and two of my best work friends knew AND two of my doctors knew ... so I came out of the baby closet a little earlier than I had planned.

I'm a school psychologist and I told my principal and supervisor right away only because I'm called to handle physical crises from time to time, and I could no longer do that.

2nd, 6 mos lol I was a nervous wreck with my second, I know weird lol. I just kept thinking the worst. I figured I had to eventually them
