What has your SO stepped up since you're pregnant
I have to admit my DH has been awesome. He immediately took over all pet tasks (had to with the cats) and always has dinner waiting when I get home since I work late. He does the dishes and then will get some things together for my lunch the next day.
When it comes to cleaning the house he said I told him I couldn't vacuum when pregnant (I don't reject this and I'm sure I made it up) so he stays on top of that also lol I'm not correcting him.

What has your SO stepped up since you're pregnant
Wow this makes me so jealous! My DH took over the cat litter box and baths but I still feed them every night and him. He has been doing the laundry since it's awkward to get down our basement stairs carrying the laundry basket but that's about it. He actually looks at me with a disapproving look when I tell him I am exhausted and want to put my feet up. lol.

Sorry to crash but did you say you give your cat baths? OMG if this is true I NEED to hear about this. My cats act like water is acid!

hahaha yes! Our one cat sits on the top of the shower door as we shower. He loves the water! The other one has a diarrhea problem so he constantly needs to be cleaned.

Yes. He does a lot now that I'm expecting. Has been doing the laundry, preparing dinner, cleaning up after dog, does the dishes, HW with DC, etc. He really wanted this baby. I told him before we started TTC, I couldn't have another and handle everything.

That is awesome. (not the diarrhea problem, the fact that you can bathe cats! )

Re: What has your SO stepped up since you're pregnant
Sadly, no. I still do everything except the kitty litter. He's taken on that one, but I still continue to scoop dog poop, make dinners, clean the house, do laundry, take out the trash. We do split DD's bath and bedtime routines at least. But to be fair, he does work long hours during the week and I'm a SAHM. I could always handle my end of things, although I will admit that as of lately (now that I'm 40 weeks and HUGE) I've been making him do a little more because I just can't anymore. We have family flying in next week too, so I'll definitely be asking him to do the bulk of the house cleaning this weekend since I plan to have just given birth. lol.

DH has been helping out with the laundry since our washer and dryer are in the basement and going up and down the stairs carrying all those clothes is a bit much for me. Once in awhile when I ask, he's done bedtime routine with DS but I can count on one hand how many times that's happened lol. I still do all the cooking and cleaning and grocery shopping. But to be fair, he has a very physical job and he's at his busiest time of year right now. Things should calm down for him in a month or so and I'll be asking him to pitch in more once I'm in my 3rd trimester.

Ugh. DH is sort of mixed in this department. He took over the cat litter (bc he had no choice) and there are TIMES that he is motivated to help me with things. But for the most part, I am still maintaing the household (dinner, laundry, general cleaning etc)

Pffft. Same, except we don't have a cat. But I still get up extra early to walk our two giant dogs in the AM. I can't wait until we close on our new house and I can sit back with my feet up because I can't lift heavy boxes or paint or anything. That'll show him.

How do you train a husband?
My DH is amazing when I ask him to do things, he hops right to it, but I have to ask him or put it on a Honey Do list. How do we train them to just know what they should be doing?
For example, the garbage could be overflowing and making the apartment stink but he will only take it out when I ask.

Candy and sex for positive reinforcement? I wish I knew!

I wish I had an answer, as much as he helps I have to ask too. He'll never think of these things on his own. I usually send him a text each day with what has to be done since I work days and he's nights.

Re: What has your SO stepped up since you're pregnant
He'll take DD out for a few hours during the weekend so that I can have some time to myself. I'm a SAHM so it's a nice break, but also gives them time to bond since he works long hours during the week.

Laundry (but not the folding) bc I can't bring it up and down. Otherwise not a whole lot. We got into a big fight about it yesterday. He was much better with pregnancy #1.

I thought of this post again last night when I had to get up for the pizza delivery guy AND the Peapod delivery guy while he sat in his boxers on the couch watching tv

lol i was going to say i'll let you know when it happens.
But truthfully, he works almost around the clock so id really just like to see him when hes not half asleep. Or for one of us to not be in a bad mood when we are together.

I told DH about this post and we were both laughing about it. He really does try but it's like a mental block with these things unless I explicitly tell him what to do! Today I put the recycling in front of the door and he moved it out of the way to leave instead of taking it out. I guess we are still newlyweds so it's laughable but I can't say it will be after the baby comes!
