NEED a new ped, I'm at my wit's end. South Shore Nassau. Help!
I really think I'm done with my ped. My son is just over 2 and there have been four separate instances where I've been sure he has something (reflux, strep, allergy, etc.) only to have the ped brush me off...and then turns out later I was right. He's had at least 6 ear infections in the past year and my ped keeps brushing off my concern and desire to see an ENT. On top of that, the wait times are horrendous, and at his two year check upn the PA botched his blood work so badly, I had a traumatized child with a huge bruise on his arm for a week AND she didn't even get enough blood to run all the tests we needed. My husband has been insistent that this is all par for the course, but I can't anymore.
I need a new ped. Someone with decent wait times, and someone who LISTENS. I don't think I'm an overly paranoid parent - I know my kid gets sick and 99% of the time it's nothing. I'm pretty easygoing, but I also have a ton of medical experience of my own and a complicated medical history and I can't work with doctors who don't listen or respect me. Someone who is extended breastfeeding friendly is a plus, but not necessary.
I'm in Oceanside, so ideally Oceanside/RVC/Long Beach/East Rockaway/Lynbrook/Hewlett.

I would definitely change practices.
May be too far for you but we go to Happy and Healthy Pediatrics in mineola and love them.

i love garden city pediatrics also in garden city. my daughter had four ear infections in a year and they referred us to ENT. Everything thankfully was ok with ENT but gave me piece of mind.

A little bit further east but we go to Bellmore Merrick Pediatrics and love them so far.

Dr Sena in RVC is wonderful. He's by himself, no nurse, no aid but we rarely wait and he always listens to me. It sucks to be ignored by a doc. I know I didn't go to med school, but I know my kid.

Pediatric Healthcare of LI has an office in Woodmere. We go to the bellmore office for almost 13 years now and love them.

Dr. Lippmann and Dr. Rosenbloom (hopefully that isn't who you use currently). They are on Merrick Rd. in Baldwin.

i don't have a rec b/c i'm oos, but i just wanted to say follow your gut. i stayed at a practice for to long. i finally switched and am so happy. wish i did it sooner

We used to see Dr. Vicky Jetter in Baldwin Harbor until we moved OOS. It's been over a year and I still miss her as a ped. She was wonderful with my boys. Listened to all my concerns, questions, etc and I had a lot of them as a 1st time mom with DS1. No wait times, same day sick appointments. And I trusted her opinion and diagnosis. DS1 saw her from birth to age 4 and DS2 from birth to 10 months. I highly recommend her.

We love Dr. Blinderman in Hewlett. The practice has Blinderman, Olin & Bryer. My wait time hasn't been more than 5-10 minutes, but more importantly he listens to me and my concerns.

East Rockaway Pediatrics. Been using them since my son was born and he is now 6 and moved 20 minutes away and still use them...

Beach Pediatrics on LB road by TJ Maxx or Pediatric Professionals of LI on N. Village in RVC. A lot of my friends use Beach and rave about them. We use PPI and love them.
