Hospital bag
you don't need much.. the hospital supplies most of your needs those first days. With DD I packed comfy pajamas for the 2 days and an outfit for me and my baby to go home in. I was nursing so I brought my boppy pillow too.. I did have DH bring up my makeup bag too.. and I am normally not a makeup person but I didn't feel human bc I was so tired

Re: Hospital bag
I'm a FTM who is WELL AWARE I've packed too much, but it's not going to hurt to have it you know?
Comfy PJ's, socks, slippers & robe for mama Going home outfit for mama and baby Nursing bra and tank Throw away undies Toiletries for me and DH An extremely small amount of makeup lol A couple blankets for baby Wayyyyy too many outfits for baby (I just couldn't decide ) A few hats, socks and mittens for baby Boppy A change of clothes, undies & socks for DH A few snacks for DH Obv phones/camera/chargers
and a couple odd ball things I just wanted to have...a large water bottle so I'm not constantly filling those tiny hospital cups and an eye mask bc I CANNOT even attempt to sleep if there are lights on.

Hospital bag
Pack a pacifier if you plan to use one for baby. Depending on where you are delivering the hospital may not offer one. LIJ doesn't anymore.

I am not a first time mom and I think this list is pretty good - I may use it when I go home and start packing my bag tonight. Don't forget some chapstick or something for your lips and hair ties!!!!

Re: Hospital bag
I ended up doing (and buying) the pro hospital photos and wish I had a cuter hat or headband for them. Socks or slippers are key too!!

Hospital bag
Totally random and not a necessity but Milkmiad Tea is on my list as a 4- time mommy friend swears it helped her milk come in when she started it right away!

I cannot emphasize enough how much I needed the lip balm during labor! I was so dry and my lips felt like they were going to split. Was so relieved to have that chap stick!

Re: Hospital bag
Ugh, I had forgotten my hairbrush with dd, and it was torture bc you are laying on your back the whole time and it kept getting knotty! Dh kept forgetting to bring one for me!
Other than that (and hair ties), just pj's, socks, soft bras, toiletries, sweats for coming home.
iPad, phone, Chargers, camera
For baby, a muslin blanket for swaddling during the day (I liked better than the hospital ones), something to come home in, blanket or bundle me for car seat if cold, hat, socks.
