Recen oil prices
Anyone locked into new contract lately? Price and with who? Looking to price put new companies and am tired of getting ripped off in pricing!

Recen oil prices
Cant say what it is for a contract, but we just ordered oil COD, and I believe are getting $1.60 per gallon-- which is great! We had talked about doing Slomins when they were offering $1.99 per gallon locked in, but i think with oil prices the way they are, we are better off COD ....

Recen oil prices
I choose not to do a contract this year because the oil prices are projected to go down- I paid $1.90 last Friday. I am in Westchester.

ok ive never done COD.. do you call them when you need oil or they estimate when you should need it and show up?

The company I am using offers both options- I have it set up that I call when I need oil.

I just paid 1.69 for 150 gal @ Discount Fuel Oil. I have used the for the past year. You have to call and order each time.

i believe this is who we use as well -- 1.599 for 200 gallons.
We order online when we see we will be running low (DH keeps an eye on our meter). They usually come the next day.

The entire energy and gas/oil industry got crushed today in the market. The NYMEX is down another 5% to $37.60 a barrel.
Just when you think it won't go any lower, it just did. Amazing. Of course local retailers won't reprice anytime soon, unlike when prices go up and they reprice immediately.

when I had oil I refused to lock into a set price. I would do market value and lock in at a price that they wouldn't charge me more than that price no matter the market value was.

I only do COD and use CODFUEL.com. You can compare prices right online. Just paid $1.37/gallon to fill my tank.
Eta: we just keep an eye on our tank and order when getting low. Delivery can be same day if early enough or next day. I actually have the app now on my phone so it's even easier.
eta: My DH's friend owns an HVAC company so we always have service available should we need it.

Those are still bargain prices compared to last year. I was locked in at something like $3.69 last year!

I locked into Lewissy for $2.89 I THINK.
I just got a delivery the other day for $2.45. If the price is lower retail, I get that price at delivery.
I always have a contract. I pay more for my oil, but I ALWAYS get service. I ALWAYS have someone for emergencies. I always have the SAME person servicing my heater. to get that personal family owned service, to me, is worth EVERY penny.
