Questions
Hi!
So I am on the BCP to suppress for IVF. One follie grew to 13. I could see their surprise. But when they got my bloodwork later they decided not to trigger and to have me continue with the pill. Has this happened to anyone?
Second question, I don't complete my BCP pack. I stop it after today and then I start retrace. What does Estrace do?

Re: Questions
I was never monitored while on BCP but wouldn't normally expect them to trigger you with one follicle at 13 especially if your route is IVF. I stopped taking my BCP in the middle of a pack as well. I believe the estrace is supposed to thicken your lining. Best of luck!!!

Re: Questions
Maybe it was a cyst and not a follie?

That's what I wondered. I think they would have triggered, gotten rid of the follie and had me start stunning. I think a cyst is why they might just be ignoring it since I'm doing retire cal and a transfer a few months from now. I guess that's why my blood work was important to them?
Ok.... That makes more sense. Thx!

Either way, I'd probably ask. The point of BCPs is to suppress any activity in your ovaries.

Re: Questions
I did not take birth control pills. For my fresh cycle i took ganirelix shots to suppress my ovaries. I am now doing a FET transfer and am taking 2 mg estrace twice a day. I was told it is to help the lining and to prevent me from ovulating. Once during an IUI they forgot to tell me to stop taking estrace and I had what at first was thought to be a follicle but when it didnt continue to grow, it turned out to be a cyst. I stopped the estrace and a follicle grew and I ovulated.

Re: Questions
I would be surprised too with a 13mm follicle on my suppression cycle. I agree with PP it could have been a cyst. That's usually what a large follicle during suppression is. Also estrace is basically estrogen. It is to help your lining. The hope is that you'll develop a healthy lining that is multi-layered.
