I am 36 weeks pregnant. I was heading to train but slipped on ice and went down (not terribly hard but down) onto my butt and then a little on my back. Someone helped me up. Although I'm totally freaked out, I think I'm ok. Heading into the office. I happen to have a dr appointment tonight. If I feel ok do you think it's ok that I'm not going in right now to get checked out? I'm nervous but not in pain and didn't land only belly etc. I should be ok to wait until tonight's appointment right??

I know it's scary but the baby is so protected in there. Unless you're bleeding or having cramping I wouldn't worry. Good you already have an appt tonight. I'd def mention it to the dr and may even do a sono for peace of mind and they'll use the Doppler for heartbeat.

Re: Fell.
Most likely the baby is fine - luckily they are so cushioned in there, and you didn't fall on your belly. Just make sure you are feeling kicks and movement. Hopefully the doctor can reassure you tonight that all is a-ok.

I'd probably call and run it by the office just to be safe. I think most likely you're ok though. I'd still want to hear what they say.

Re: Fell.
I would think if you are not bleeding, cramping and you can feel the baby moving you are OK. I would mention it at your appointment tonight though Feel better

Since you have an appointment tonight, I would just tell them then. If you have any bleeding or cramping though, then I would call. Sorry you fell, the ice is awful today. Feel better!

Re: Fell.
Since you fell on your butt, I'm sure everything is okay. If you fell face first I'd say go in right away. Hope you're not too sore.

I agree it's fine to wait unless you have cramping or bleeding.

Re: Fell.
Ugh, now I fell, too!! I slipped on ice stepping up onto the curb and landed on wrist and knee. I'm sure I'm fine, too, but it's horrible out there! Be careful everyone!!

I fell in the office on Tuesday--pretty hard but I fell on my hands and knees. My doctor said if I fell on stomach she'd send me to the hospital but if I felt regular movements from the baby, I shouldn't worry. I ended up twisting my ankle in the fall but I'm doing okay now. Hope everything is okay!
It's scary how many of us are falling!

It's scary how many of us are falling! I was so careful walking in subways and in snow and of course I fell walking fast from the printer to my desk in my office.
Glad to hear the doctor said you should be okay! I was considering calling yesterday but I didn't want to be a pest. I have a scheduled appointment on Tuesday, too. No cramping, no bleeding, and little girl is kicking away. I feel like I've been SO careful, too, but I think I just got complacent yesterday because it's been so warm during the day. I didn't expect there to be any ice.
OP- what did your doc say at your appointment?

When I told her I fell on my butt, she seemed relieved and said "well, as long as you didnt fall on your stomach...." We did a sono (they actually do one at every appointment any way) and everything looked fine...heart rate was good, good fluid and saw some movements. Although for me, I feel like the movements have been few and far between -- which is somewhat unusual --- I am chalking it up to the fact that there is simply less room in there now. But, dr. was not concerned and everything looked ok. Thanks for checking in!! Of course, now I'm getting my 2nd cold in less than a month --- it's always SOMETHING, ha!

Please keep a close eye on your movements and don't hesitate to go back in if you're not feeling regular movement. I forget what they say, 10 in an hour once or twice a day? Sudden or drastic change in movement should always be checked out. Not trying to scare you bit I speak from experience.
