Ideas for a short vacation
DH just received his vacations for the year, he received a week in August that wasn't planned.
We would like to do something but don't know what. Looking for some ideas. The trip would be with our 20 month (at the time) DS.
We are already going to Jamaica for 8 days in June and Montauk for 7 days in July.
I would prefer not to fly but not against it. 5 days max would be the trip.

Ideas for a short vacation
How about cape may, Martha's Vineyard, Virginia beach, ocean city?
I loved Virginia beach- many things to do, good restaurants etc. took us about 7 hours to drive there. We had a blast!

Cape May/Wildwood.
the zoo in cape may is free and it's amazing- your son would love it.
The amusement parks on the boardwalk in Wildwood have rides for little ones.
We stayed in Diamond Beach (right next to Wildwood) and had a private beach at our hotel. It was amazing.
20 min ride to Cape May.
Loved that trip. Going back this year

Philly- Please touch museum/Sesame Place (not too far)
We did a couple of days in Lancaster and enjoyed it. Stayed at the Eden Resort and went to Dutch Wonderland, Strasburg RR, Turkey Hill Factory. Also the pool area itself at Eden Resort was really nice, they had a really good kiddie pool area.

DC would be good for a shortish trip. You could do the monuments, zoo, museum and walk around Georgetown

It's amazing. Most hotels down there are dumps to say the least. 1950s run down motels
This is brand new, totally renovated. All rooms are suites with kitchens.
It's soooo nice.

Cape may.. We go there literally 6 times a year. Its gorgeous. Fun. Not too far. My kids love it as well.

Yep. It's Wildwood, Wildwood Crest and Diamond Beach... all together.
Diamond Beach is a bit further down. I liked it because it's quieter and away from the hoopla, it's more residential with upscale condos, etc but still close enough to everything.
I liked the private beach too
