Didn't ever expect to be saying this, but I'm back for round 3
So "oops" will be arriving some time in September. My 2 boys took a ton of effort to conceive. Imagine the shock, dismay and number of times "no f-ing way" was said last week after ONE (yes, only once kids. We are like a bad after school special here) obviously perfectly timed and careless (I can't get pregnant on my own. Who cares?! Let's just do it!) encounter brought on the double lined pregnancy test. Can't believe it. I'm going to have kids 15 months apart. WTF. We are in the acceptance phase now, hoping to progress to the "oh this is going to be just amazing" phase shortly. I'm trying to convince myself it will be so awesome and not hectic at all wrestling 3 kids out of the house in the morning. And I think I look like a train wreck now.
So even though I'm an old pro, what I am not a pro at is controlling baby weight. I still had/have 17 lbs to go from DS2. I really need to watch this go around because I am a chubby chub. Does anyone have a specific diet or, the more PC term "lifestyle", that they follow during pregnancy to help minimize excess weight gain? If so, please share.
Also, anyone else who has a small army of children...what kind of truck do you have? This is really burning my a ss because I JUST bought an awesome car but that won't accommodate my gaggle of children. So, what fits 2 car seats and a booster that is not a minivan?

Well, at least you have a sense of humor I'm having my 3rd too (planned, lol) and wondering the same thing about a car. We have a third row now, but as my oldest gets bigger it's not going to work. I really don't want a minivan!
No advice on weight gain. I look 6 months preggo at 15 weeks.
Oh, and congrats!

Congrats!! Same thing happened to me back in October. 6 years of IF and 2 IVF's to have DS. When I saw that 2nd line come up all I kept saying was 0-M-F-G! lol. I'm STILL freaking out and I'm 22 weeks pregnant. Mine will be 22 months apart. The transition to 2 under 2 makes me super nervous but I keep telling myself I'm not the first!
My lease on my Rogue was up (loved that car) and needed something slightly bigger to accomodate the 2 car seats so we actually just got the Acura MDX yesterday for a great price. Good luck!!

Wow congrats!!!
My sister had 3 kids back to back (spacing between them is 14 months) and it was tough when they were little but got better as they got older. She drives a minivan so no help there but I do know my boss' daughter w/ 3 kids likes the Chevy Traverse and I know someone who raved about her Buick Enclave.

Omg congrats! Dd1 took us a year and a half and fertility treatments. Dd2 was first month of trying. Now we use condoms! Lol.
Exciting though. What a blessing

Thanks, ladies! My family just had a very sad death in the family so this is definitely a much needed bright spot. But it's still crazy. And I had such big drinking plans this year...whomp whomp. I'm already getting underboob sweat just thinking about being 8 months preg in July.

congrats!! I don't know it is, I just LOVE when I hear women who always struggled with IVF get pregnant unexpectedly on their own!! what an amazing blessing!!
good luck! I have 3 kids, 7, 4 and a 7 month old. It is a balancing act for sure but it is amazing when you are surrounded by all these kids!! I feel like I have a litter sometimes. I can only imagine couples that have 4 or 5 kids! I don't know how they do it!
best of luck!!

You are hysterical, but yay congrats! This baby really wants to be a part of your family! We have a third DB on the way and try not to think about how. We also just bought a car that is now way too small, I've been ignoring that as well. Our house is also way too small and we have been ignoring that too.
So, you are alone

Re: Didn't ever expect to be saying this, but I'm back for round 3
Congrats!!! I completely understand. We had twins after 3 years of IF (7 iuis, 1 miscarriage, and an IVF round). We were unexplained IF. My twins were 8 months old when I got pregnant with my 3rd. Yes, we did it literally once that month (I had 8 month old twins--who has time?!?!).
DH didn't even know I took a pregnancy test. I really was thinking no way. I was in shock. I came out and handed him the positive test. He was like whose is this? I said we're having another baby. He was like who is we? I said you and me-you dummy. I swear until he actually held our 3rd baby, I don't think he fully wrapped his mind around it.
I am on the pill now which is so crazy to me. Anyway to answer your question, we had a pilot which I finally traded in for a minivan when my 3rd was a year old. Just so much more convenient with sliding doors, etc. with 3 little ones.
Yes, life will be insane. Once we were outnumbered we were like oh no we are so screwed. Lol. We are just so used to insanity, I actually feel weird when it's quiet and DH says I have no clue how to use my 'regular' voice anymore because I have to yell everything all the time, even when he's right next to me (according to him ).

That's essentially how my DH reacted as well. We had a Pilot and I was thinking of maybe going back to it. Ugh. I hate car shopping. Especially when its not for something fun, fast and cool.
