Question about Federal Jury Duty in Islip
My morning babysitter got called for Federal Jury Duty in Islip. It was call in and she got called for Monday.
How long does it usually last if you don't get selected for a jury?
Do they interview you a different jury across multiple days?
Is it like county court jury duty...go for the day, if you don't get selected then you are done?
Thanks for any insight from anyone who has done this before! I'm trying to figure out coverage for my kids coordinated with my husband's business trip (we don't have any family to help us, our babysitter is our lifeline!)

Question about Federal Jury Duty in Islip
Federal is 2 weeks, regardless if you get picked for a jury or not.

Question about Federal Jury Duty in Islip
It is not 2 weeks. But they do put you back in the pool even if you don't get selected for one trial. Of course this is all depending on how many trials they need juries for.

Re: Question about Federal Jury Duty in Islip
I just did this. It was 2 weeks.
I had to call in every day for 2 weeks. It ended up that I only had to go in twice for jury selection (wasn't picked either time), but I still needed to call in every day. We were not dismissed as a panel until the end of two weeks.

Re: Question about Federal Jury Duty in Islip
I went to federal court in Brooklyn a few years back and was there for about 3 days. Another time, I had to go to the same courthouse and was chosen for grand jury duty... which was 1 day a week for 4 months.
