Questions for those who have done Laser Hair Removal
If you have done laser hair removal..
How many sessions did you have to do before the hair was completely gone ?
And did you actually feel the pinching when the laser was being done on you?
ETA: I recently did my face and everything was all but gone by the third session. ANd while I was doing it it definitely hurt a bit and my face reacted but within a couple of days the reaction was totally gone. I went to a different place using a Groupon last week for my arms, bikini and underams and I didn't feel a single thing and still see the stubble on my entire arm from where I shaved before I went in for laser. The women doing my laser said I shouldn't feel anything bc of the cool air after effect their "Special" machine had but I feel like its a total -- scam--the only thing that reassures me is that its unlimited laser for one year and i can go every 4 weeks.. so I cant imagine they have an incentive to have me go 12 times - to finish the job if it can just be done in 3-6. I think next time I go I will jiust have to ask them to up the intensity a bit!

Questions for those who have done Laser Hair Removal
Totally gone after 6 sessions. Went for touch ups every 6 months.
It was painful but totally worth it! My salon offered lidocaine lotion which took the edge off. I also used to take Motrin an hour before my appt.

Questions for those who have done Laser Hair Removal
How many sessions depends on a few things. Your skin coloring (fairer people tend to do better with laser removal even though lasers have come a long way in a short amount of time), the hair growth cycle, method of removal before going to laser....
For me, I found that 3 sessions for my bikini area was all I needed - I haven't shaved my bikini line in 15 years. My face was a few sessions as well.
However, after my first pregnancy, with my face, I need to do a clean up every 4 months or so bc the hair keeps growing back bc of the hormones. Now that I'm PG again, we'll see how the hormones affect me this time.
Yes - you can feel the laser zapping you, but it's a cooling spray that is sprayed first with a zap behind it. It's completely tolerable.
FYI - electrolysis is the only real thing that kills a hair root completely. Laser helps reduce the hair dramatically, but technically does not kill the root.
I see someone based out of Bangz in Bellmore and have been seeing her for years. She is an RN trained to do this. Her name in Gloria Stark, Enhancement Unlimited, (516) 785-6220. You don't do packages with her - you pay as you go so there is no committment and you're not stuck with 10 sessions if you only need 8.

Re: Questions for those who have done Laser Hair Removal
Is there an average price for this?
Say for bikini line per session or lip per session?
I've been curious about this.

Re: Questions for those who have done Laser Hair Removal
It was 6 sessions for me, but not all the hair was gone, but most of it. I used to shave daily (legs and under arms), now I use twizzers here and there. I did full legs, deep bikini, under arms and face (upper lip and chin).
Yes, I felt the pain, but it was worth it. In the small areas it is like 1 minute or less. For me the problem was in the legs because is a long area. But I don't regret doing it.

Would you mind sharing how much each session costs? You do laser right?

Re: Questions for those who have done Laser Hair Removal
I've done over 60 sessions for face. It hurts every single time. It's hormonal so hair won't go away 100%. I was actually looking in the car mirror the other day and saw tiny hairs. It's been well over 6 months since my last session which is amazing!

Re: Questions for those who have done Laser Hair Removal
I did 6 and while it lessened I still had to shave once a week. I just went back and the girl said most people require 8. I just had my 8th and notice a huge difference but I'm doing 10 to make sure!

Re: Questions for those who have done Laser Hair Removal
I had something similar happen. I went to one place and had really great results. Then I bought a groupon to another place, and the laser barely did anything for me. I think it all depends on the type of laser they use.
I went for 4 sessions on my groupon (I signed up for 6 sessions full body) and finally just gave up because it wasn't worth me wasting my time for such minimal results. For areas with finer hairs (ie my arms and my face), I see absolutely no difference after these 4 sessions. For places with thicker hair (like my legs), it did help a little, but nothing near what I saw at the first place I went to.

Questions for those who have done Laser Hair Removal
For me, depending on the area, I'd say it took 4-6 sessions. And yes, I always felt the pinching. I never went to any place that offers a groupon- I'm skeptical of places that offer too good to be true deals..they may be using crappy machines.

Questions for those who have done Laser Hair Removal
I had at least 12 sessions and it never fully went away and now that I'm pregnant, it's back in full force. Praying hair becomes finer again after pregnancy but truly hate that I spent so much money on this (I did most of the sessions before the invention of Groupon so I paid a lot of money). I've been back to waxing for the time being. I wouldn't do laser again because it obviously didn't work for me.
