Moms of tall, skinny (toddler) boys...

Where do you find pants that fit well? My DS is slightly over 2 1/2 and wears 18-24 (gap) pants for the most part. He's always complaining that they ride up when he sits in the car. The problem is 2t, while it fits well lengthwise, is HUGE and unwearable on his waist.

Any suggestions for places I may want to try? He mostly wears Gap and Old Navy, so no clue how other brands may fit.

Try Gymboree.
I always had luck with their pants.
DS is super skinny & is wearing a small size for his age, but lengthwise, they are perfect. We only do elastic bands for waist bands.

Kohls has some pants that are a little tighter in the waist.

Try Children's Place - they have a slim option and adjustable waist. And they seem to be cutting their 'play' pants on the slim side too

Carters has been cutting very slim lately which is good for my almost 5 year old (at 2 he was chunkier)

Old Navy also has slim or 'skinny' pant options.

TCP is cut very slim, IMO...my guy has a chunky butt and muscular thighs and the jeans tend be too small for him depending on the cut.

I have a "long and lean" girl, and we get our jeans from OshKosh for this reason. I get her 18-24 and they fit great! All the 2T give her a "pants on the ground" kind of look...
(which you know I am NOT A FAN OF!) Chat Icon
The gap 18-24 fit perfectly around the waste, but are just too short- unless she is looking for a flood!

H & M. My DS is 30lbs at 4years old and tall. HM is slimmer cut and tends to be long. I also only buy skinny jeans because on him they are "not so skinny"

DS is tall and skinny and i love GAP skinny jeans on him. He is only 4.5 but I just started buying him a size 6 because hes so tall and I pull the elastic on the inside pretty tight so they stay up. He also has a pair of Volcom jeans that fit him great!

My boys wear slim fit from a few different brands like TCP, gap, crazy 8, ON. And they also must wear a dapper snapper with their pants or else they will still fall down.

I find I need to go up a size for the length before he needs it in the waist. Gap, Old Navy and Childrens Place have been the best. Jeans with adjustable waistbands have helped a lot.

I have the same exact issue and I find Carters pants work and target since they tend to run small

Chat Icon this is exactly what I need!

DS is already wearing pants almost 2 sizes too big in the waist just because he needs the length.

Any pants that have an adjustable waist. Old navy, TCP, etc. Athletic pants are a little more challenging since they don't have adjustable waists. I like the ones from target/walmart.

this exactly! They have the adjustable waistbands but are still skinny though the leg so they don't look insane. Both my kids wear a ton of H&M and their stuff is realllly sturdy and washes super well!

Even the elastic inside wasn't enough.

These are 10$ on Amazon and come in all sorts of colors.

What about a toddler belt?

We have this problem with DS. I find that Ralph Lauren jeans fit him the best.
