Disney restaurant suggestions
Any suggestions for a fun place to eat for your first dinner at Disney? We don't want to go into the parks that day, but are willing to go to any of the resorts or Disney springs for a fun idea. My kids are 9,7,2. Thanks.

are you looking for characters? Chef Mickeys at the contemporary has the mickey, minnie, goofy, pluto--- kind of "classic" disney for no characters, we like Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge- good food, and fun atmosphere. Same with dinner at ohana at the polynesian- thats gonna be our first dinner this trip i've also heard really good things about Beaches and Cream Soda fountain at the Boardwalk Hotel. diner type food... and amazing ice cream sundaes for dessert (Again, from what i've heard! LOL) we're trying that for the firs time when we go the end of august...

I didn't get to try it, but Mickey's backyard BBQ sounds fun.

I don't really care if there are characters or not...we are already going to chef mickeys for breakfast...I made a reservation for 1900 park fare, but I might try for ohana...

We are having dinner at the Spirit of Aloha luau show at The Polynesian on our first night. It's pricey though and I'm having second thoughts. We are not going to the parks on our first day either and originally we were going to have dinner at 1900 Park Fare then do the Pirates and Pals firework cruise out of The Contemporary to see the fireworks without having to go to the Magic Kingdom. I think my LO would really enjoy the cruise but it may be a lot in one night even though time wise it works out fine without needing to rush. As it turns out we got a deal for 7day passes through one of the authorized ticket dealers and we could go into one of the parks on our first day after all. I was thinking of going to Mickeys Backyard BBQ for dinner the first night but they don't have it when I'm going (seasonal). My other thought was to do the Hoop-de-do Musical Review but they were booked. Not sure if that would be fun for your 2yr old but your older ones would probably love it. I went to it when I was around 9yrs old and still remember how much fun I had. HTH.

We did our first dinner at 1900 Park Fare. It was so exciting and got us ready for our first day at MK the next day. We also did dinners at Disney Springs.
