Re: BTDT Moms - Question
For me, my belly was always measuring small at the OB.
DD was always measuring small on the sonos too. They monitored me a lot because of it.
When I would tell people how far along I was at the end, they would look at me like I was nuts. They always thought I had a LOT longer to go. I carried very tiny.
When I walked in to deliver- at 1 day prior to my due date- the nurses thought I was there for preterm labor at first. My belly looked about 6-7 months pregnant.
DD was 7 lbs. Pretty average I'd say, but not huge.

Re: BTDT Moms - Question
I feel like i was big due to big babies. My first was 8.1 and my second was 9.11. I was definitly a lot bigger with #2, but that could be a second pregnancy too. I did have people asking if "I was sure there weren't two in there " I started at like 120 pounds too so I wasn't big to start. Now it's a different story though.

BTDT Moms - Question
I was HUGE with my first. Looking back I can't believe how big I was lol. She was 2 weeks late and I was nervous she was going to be giant by then but she was 7lb15.
My second I started out big and then kind of leveled off. At 6 months people thought I was 7 or 8 months. Thank you strangers at the ice cream shop! By the end I measured behind and dd2 was iugr, born 4 pounds a month early when she should have been 5 or 6 pounds.
I think a lot of it has to do with your build. I'm 5ft 2 with long legs and a very short torso so there's nowhere for everything to go but out.

BTDT Moms - Question
I started off tiny with my first, and I never got really huge. I mean, I was obviously very pregnant by the time I delivered, but I feel as if I carried on the small size. I went 2 days early, and Dd was over 8 lbs.
This time I'm slightly larger, but not by much, and I've actually gained less weight so far.

Re: BTDT Moms - Question
In theory, yea, of course a bigger baby takes up more room. But I think it also depends on how much extra weight you gain, and the mother's size. If you're short, and you have a 7lb baby, you're going to look a lot bigger than someone who's 5'10" carrying a 7lb baby.
With my daughter, the growth sono said she was measuring HUGE, the doctor measuring my belly was like "no, that's not a big baby" because my belly was small....yeah, she was HUGE, lol.

Re: BTDT Moms - Question
I was huge and I'm only 5'1". DD was only 6lbs 13oz.
I'm carrying similar this time around even though I'm eating way better and drinking only water. It's just my body's way of carrying pregnancy I guess.

Re: BTDT Moms - Question
I think some doctors do suggest the baby might be big if you measure on the large size. One of my friends just had a baby and her doctor suggested the baby would be 10+ lbs at birth because of her belly measurement. She ended up delivering 2 weeks early and her baby was 8lbs 3oz.
I am not sure how I carried. My doctor would always measure me and say everything looked good. DD was born 6lbs 12oz.

BTDT Moms - Question
I am huge this time around. #3. I'm 36 1/2 weeks. They sent me for a growth sono and the baby is measuring in the 90% at 7 lbs 15 oz. but I make big babies. #1 was 8.3 lbs, #2 was 8.13 lbs. so it's expected for this one to be bigger. But that could be off a lb either way.
