need a high risk ob recs please:/
Just got the call. I'm discharged from my clinic RMANJ.:(((( I just moved to long island last year and had a terrible experience with a few of the OBs here. I need a high risk OB and heard Klein is great and also someone at Winthrop. I would love to use the high risk group at LIJ bc I used them before and loved them but can not find a regular ob I like to work with them. I've had 8 m/c and done about 16 rounds of IVF (frozen too) so I'm a tough patient. Need a dr. who can deal with someone who actually knows more then your average patient. Would appreciate any recommendations! thanks sooo much!!!

My OBGYN is a NSLIJ dr in Great Neck, Dr. Jeanne Rohan. I was referred to her by my endocrinologist since I am a Type II Diabetic. The OBGYN office has a MFM High Risk office attached to them. I haven't gotten pregnant yet (2 failed IVF, and going through a 3rd next month) but have seen them for a consult and was very happy with them. I have another appt with them next week before i go through my next round just to make sure we are all on the same page. The name of the Dr. is Dr. Tam Tam. the number to the office is (516) 562-2891

I see Dr. Dilena...he is an amazing dr...he handled my craziness and paranoia...I was in his office almost weekly and he has the best bedside manner. I have seen many MFM's and for me I didnt like most of them.

I've heard great things about Dr. Timothy Rafael, he's a MFM with Wintrop Perinatal Associates. But he works out of Winthrop only.

I spent the last month of my pregnancy at Stony Brook Hospital and was seen by their hi risk doctors. I had a very rare heart condition that was induced by my pregnancy and if not for them and my cardiologist I would not be alive. They were all amazing.

I don't think he is with Winthrop Perinatal anymore. I just had my baby in February, and I saw him a few times in the beginning and by the time I left his name was off the door. The other doctors there are very good though. I really like Dr. Muscat

I would recommend meeting with Dr. Alexander Kofinas in Garden City. He's an MFM and he is amazing! He works with Dr. Piliterri who is an OBGYN in Deer Park..it was a bit of a hike to get to Dr. P but they are literally the Dream Team. My son wouldn't be here if it weren't for them.

what hospital does dr. Piliterri deliver at? And how does his office work? Other OBs there, etc?

He delivers at Good Samaritan. He's the only OB in the office and his regular hours are Monday-Friday but he comes in on Saturdays to see Kofinas patients who aren't from the area.

I also recommend Dr Kofinas. I was high risk for my first pregnancy from IVF and he was on top of everything from the beginning with me. Without him, I am sure I would have had so many complications. He will also work with Dr Miller whose office is next door. There are 3 other OBs at Dr Miller's office and they all deliver at Winthrop.

I wholeheartedly agree with the above. I saw Dr. Kofinas and Dr. Pillitteri with both of my children.
Dr. Pillitteri also delivers at Southside.
