SAMs club/Costco/BJs - which is best ?

Looking to get a membership at one of them. Which is the best? Any pros or cons to any of them?

I like BJ's because it's close to me, and I feel like they have a better selection of food overall than Costco. More brands of cereal and other items. I like Costco for things other than food though!

I've had all three... I find that Sams club has the best variety... There are fewer so it really only benefits you if there is one within a reasonable distance... Costco is second best

BJs has the best selection and prices IMO, plus the coupons.

Costco is good, I like that I can get gas there and I get 2% cash back on all purchases.

I've had both but I really like BJ's. Their bakery is great, the meats are awesome and they have many of the brands I need whereas Costco (IMO) was sometimes lacking. The one thing that always REALLY annoyed me about Costco was they didn't take all of the different credit cards, I don't know if they changed that since I was a member though.

We have Costco and BJs. They're very different, actually, in what they carry. Prices are better on some items at each store, so you have to compare. What exactly are you looking for?

We have Costco and had BJs memberships. We prefer Costco. Their return policy is amazing. They have many items on their website with free shipping also, which can be returned to a store if you like. They don't take coupons like BJs and BJs sometimes has smaller size packages (instead of the huge ones) but Costco is moving more towards the smaller sizes. I like all the organic products at Costco which are reasonably priced. They also have a good selection of seasonable items - right now its plants, flowers, etc and they are really good prices, nice selection. I don't have a Sam's Club near me so I wouldn't even consider that one.

Overall- price wise Costco is the cheapest. I read a news article that compared the 3. I have Costco and loved them- until I found out they won't be taking Amex as of June. This for me is a deal breaker as I only use Amex. I have BJs by me too- and I'll be using a free membership to try for a few months at BJS.

I've had all 3 over the years and like Costco the best for their selection and prices.

I have membership with all 3 as well and hands down Costco is the best. My husband would only go there 'cus he doesn't like Walmart/Sam's Club for their practices...

We go to them for different purposes but mainly make an outing of going to Costco at least once a month.

BJ's:
- accept coupons
- best deals on BJ brand diapers and formula, esp. with store coupons
- don't like clipping their coupons
- accepts any credit card
- cheap but great baked goods

We like Costco 'cus:
- best pharmacy if you got no prescription plan
- great prices on alcohol (some stores have them)
- great prices on photo reprints/checks/cards
- no store paper coupons
- great heat up and serve goods
- great seasonal stuff
- good variety of organic stuff
- great employee policy
- great for a cheap lunch of hotdogs, sausage or pizza

Costco hands down! :)

We have both and we keep both for very different reasons.

BJs is closer for me and they have a gas station too, that is cheap and with their Visa card, I get an additional 10-cents off the low price per gallon.

Bjs has some items in smaller packages, which is great when I don't need to buy 5 bottles of ketchup or mayo.

I earn money back on my purchases on my BJs visa card and I use that in $20 increments on my next purchase. The member ship pays for itself.

Costco has no clip coupons and only takes Amex until June, then it will only be Visa.

I like Costco's clothing selection. Their rotisserie chicken. It's just bigger overall and I find they offer more outside of food selection. right now they have awesome plants/flats. I like the take-out area of Costco, the pizza is good and my kids love a good berry smoothie or churro!
