Rec convertible car seat
I need to switch my twins out of their infant car seats to convertible car seats.
I already have a Britax for my 3 yo and can't imagine spending $500+ on 2 car seats
Can you recommend a safe and affordable car seat as there are so many to choose from. I am currently driving a Honda Pilot.
TIA

I would NOT recommend the Chicco Nextfit. We have it and I do not love it - it is SO hard to adequately tighten the straps.
We also have the Britax Maraton Clicktight, which I like - easy to install and tighten. We used to have one of the Graco ones (reasonably priced) and I liked that one as well.

I have the Graco Contender and I really like it, it fits well in my honda cr-v. Very affordable.

Re: Rec convertible car seat
I literally just switched my twins out of their infant seats on Sunday. We opted for the Graco forever all in 1 and I really love them! They were $299 each which I think is pretty reasonable (especially since we need two! LOL)
We have a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and still rear face

I am also a fan of the Graco Contender car seat! I have both a Contender and a Graco 4Ever -- I actually prefer the Contender and have it in my car which I use everyday and the 4Ever in DH's car for weekend travel.

We finally installed the contender we bought months ago and I really like it. Price is great, easy to install and DD seems nice and comfy.

I love the Graco 4Ever. Yes, it's expensive, but it would be the last seat you need to buy.

This! We have the 4ever and really like it. I was able to use a 20% coupon at BBB and I just saw in the Target circular that it was onsale as well.

I read this and laughed because I thought it was reasonable becuase some of the convertibles are crazy expensive!

It is still expensive but the Diono is a great car seat - it has a 12 year life span - so will last them well as a booster also - made of mostly metal so very sturdy. I do not like britax - they construction is not that great when you see it without covers also Dionos are narrow and can fit 3 across if needed- I did 2 dionos and britax boulevard in my 2nd row of my explorer

I know! If I'm going to spend $300 on a car seat, I want one that can do everything, not be outgrown after 65lbs. That's why I never considered buying britax.

I was considering diono until I read on CSFTL that the limits are inflated and they're outgrown by height at the same time the harness mode is outgrown. But at the same time, you can get a booster seat for cheap so it's not the end of the world.

I love the Evenflo Symphony 65 e3. We have 4 of them! Two in each car. They are under $200 and with a Babies R Us 20% coupon you can get them for a great price.

Totally agree! But she said she didn't want to spend $500+ and that's what she'll spend on these. But, again, there are no more seats to buy after this one!

Re: Rec convertible car seat
Graco milestone. I had the Britax boulevard in my car and bought the Graco for DH because DD outgrew the symphony rear facing. We did extended rear facing and the limits were higher than the symphony and I liked that she could grow with it. Turns out she loved it and was more comfortable than the Britax I had. I just bought another milestone for my car and we just turned her forward at 4. The milestone is cheaper than the 4 ever and I think the only difference is it doesn't switch to a no back booster, just high back booster.

ITA! We had a bunch of GCs that we used towards them and still had to lay out $400+ but we won't have to do it again. and now we'll hang on to the old seats til BRU has another trade in event.

Kohls has some great process right now on many of the graco seats. You can't use the coupons but you'll get kohl's cash and ebates is currently 15% back! I've gotten great baby great deals from them and if you don't like the seats for whatever reason you can return to the store no problem.

Re: Rec convertible car seat
I really like the Evenflo car seats. We had a graco convertible for my daughter when she outgrew her infant seat, but the padding really didn't last long on the Graco Mysize. It flattened and just didn't hold up well padding wise. We were thinking of switching to the Graco forever, but when compared to the Evenflo convertible, the Evenflo was heads and tails above in my opinion.
