IUI on Saturday
Tomorrow is my big day. As of right now, my last chance. Four failed IUIs, one failed IVF, I've switched over to Dr. Stelling at RS of NY from LI IVF (used RS for my son 5 years ago tho I was at a different office and didn't use him). I'm in love with him lol. This cycle has been very different for me. I'm much more relaxed and not making myself crazy. Also helps that he is doing exactly what I want him to do for my protocol which is unconventional for an IUI and for that I will be forever be grateful. He listened to all my concerns, looked at all my failed attempts and agreed to let me lead this one. I've been on Follistim and added ganorelix for four days to keep me from ovulating. This has allowed me to have many follicles (which I did for my last two IUIs but surged and ovulated before many of them became a viable size). He allowed me to go until tomorrow to get five follicles when most would never allow that for an IUI. While I know there is a multiples risk, I also know that at 39 there's only one good egg for every 8-10 eggs and I'm hoping this increases my chances for just one good egg. I did start acupuncture last week to also try to make a difference as well as CoQ2 two months ago to help with egg quality. God I hope some of this makes a difference for me. I really have tried everything I could at this point.
My numbers were close for hyperstimulation on Thursday so my trigger shot was cut in half because that can also trigger it. Hopefully I don't have that complication. Also I seem to be reacting to the trigger shot today. I usually do ovidrel but this time I did Pregnyl. I'm red, little warm and very tender in a quarter size area around the injection site. I'll see what the dr says about it tomorrow but the nurse on call this evening was not very concerned.
Thank you to all that gave advice, support and donated meds to me over the last year. No where can you get this level of understanding and sympathy to all that we go through on this roller coaster.

I have a good feeling about this one. Five follies! There will be one good one in there. that is an interesting statistic. For every 8-10 egg there is usually only one good egg. No wonder I'm not getting pregnant! Wonder if I have any good eggs it in me! Lol

Thanks everyone. Things went well today. I was very worried about the sperm count on my vial that was only 2/3 of a vial because we used 1/3 of the vial for my IVF cycle. Out if the 8 IUIs and one IVF, this was my best count ever. I was thrilled. I've had a rough day ovulating. I underestimated what it would be like to ovulate 5+ follicles. It's painful! I wasn't this uncomfortable after my IVF retrieval in February! Hopefully it passes soon. But all and all I'm so happy with how the cycle and IUI went.
