Probiotics for newborn?
DS is 3 weeks and is super gassy and fussy. Last night he was just so bad that I ended up giving him mommy bliss gripe water and little tummies gas drops. It still look him a an hour or so to just settle down. He is on breastmilk 95% of the time and maybe I ate something that didn't sit well, idk. I called his pediatrician and she said to start infant probiotics. I have never heard of this, any suggestions from mommies who did give some to their newborns? I'm terribly sleep deprived but more upset that he is so uncomfortable and in pain.

Since your bf, I'm assuming you also take a probiotic?

Re: Probiotics for newborn?
This the one we use
It was recommended from a lot of moms and it has def helped us.
I read an article that says it's better when the probiotic u're using has lactobacillus rhamnosus, supposedly this bacteria helps a great deal.

Probiotics for newborn?
I take a prenatal no probiotics. I'll look into these. Did you you both give this for gas or as a preemptive measure?

Well it's ideal to use it as a preemptive measure during pregnancy. But once the baby is born is better to give it to them directly since it hasn't been proved that probiotics can be passed through the bm. My lo was gassy but he also has a diary intolerance, he's been doing so much better with the gassy part and his intolerance is improving but not fully yet.

Probiotics for newborn?
I'm not sure I'd rush to give something daily after one gassy night. Both my girls had a few nights like this, maybe 2 or 3 each. It's horrible when they're in pain and there's little you can do but I think unless it's a regular thing I would just wait it out. Most likely as they mature they'll outgrow it quickly.

Probiotics for newborn?
I gave probiotics daily and still do. In the beginning i used biogia drops--but they were bought out by gerber. Gerber calls them colic drops.

I also gave the gerber soothe drops, they replaced the biogia drops. I would order on Amazon. I really saw a difference when I started her on them.

I gave DD the same drops as an infant and also saw a big difference.

U can get it online, but the reason why I didn't though was because I was scared they weren't gonna package it well (they need to be refrigerated) so I called a whole bunch of natural stores and I found 2 that carry this probiotic, Phil's Vitamin Center in Huntington and St James Natural Food in St James.
