cost to replace above ground oil tank

Hi all. We had our oil burner serviced recently and the tech told us that we will need to replace our oil tank in a year or so. I was just wondering how much something like that costs. We already have an above ground tank.

I have gas in my house, so I don't know from personal experience.

But I've had clients get estimates on this and - while it varies in terms of size of tank and what type of tank (outdoor v. indoor) - I would say something in the range of $2K to $2500 would be average (including the cost of properly draining and removing old tank).
