How much do you think to remove a tiny scuff on a car?
So I was putting my son in his car seat and the wind blew my door into the car next to me. Left a teeny tiny scuff, maybe a centimeter but I think less. No dent or scratch underneath but we filed an incident report. I suggested we do so because she was a looney tune. The cop said he thought he could've gotten it out then and there by rubbing it but the women insisted he not touch it. Wish I was able to post a picture! Anyway we exchanged info. I'm happy to pay for it being it was technically my fault (damn wind! damn baby! Lolol jk) but I wonder what it could possibly run? Any reasonable estimates? I just sense she's the type to send me a bill for a new paint job if you KWIM???

What?? I have been sitting in my car while people slammed their door into it, and they see me there and don't even apologize. I don't know about costs, but DH scraped against a yellow pole once and a regular mechanic "buffed it out" for him.

If it's really as you say it is most auto body shops have abrasive type cleaners. It's like a two step cleaner where they basically buff it out. If you go to a nice place or an honest place rather, they probably won't charge you.
If damage is done that extends under all the layers of paint they'll have to repaint the entire section which could cost hundreds to a thousand, but from what you're saying that's not the case.

if the paint is not damaged and its just a scuff mark on top of your paint then car wax with some elbow grease will do the trick just get some at target or auto zone .. if not take it to a car detail center and get a detail or paint correction which will cost anywhere from $100-$250 and your whole car will look really nice after also !

Re: How much do you think to remove a tiny scuff on a car?
I posted on the other recent thread of a similar topic. I did the same thing though in my case I was just in a rush. It was a small scratch, gray, I didn't measure but it was definitely less than an inch. The color made me assume I'd take the paint totally off.
Anyway, the woman was sitting in her car. We exchanged info and she expressed concern that I was trying to scam her and not give her my real info. I told her she'd have to trust me, to get an estimate and call me, which she did a few days later. She claimed it would be $300 to fix and at that point I called my insurance co because it was a lot and the scratch I made on her door was not the latest or the worst- it was an older car.
So, my insurance never paid her anything and the person I spoke with said the scratch was actually my car's paint (I had a dark gray car) and there was no damage. I'd try the wax route.
