I was just saying that yesterday. Its been SO hot and sticky for SO many days. I don't remember it ever being like this.

I can't take it. I was in the mall earlier with my mom and Macy's was an inferno. They said the AC broke from running so hard. I just cannot get cool. I seriously can't even breathe in this thank god I'm not further along in my pregnancy.

It is sticky and hot but still better than the tons of snow and below freezing temps we have had the past few winters.

Normally the heat doesn't bother me either but this week has been ridiculous. My poor DS sweats so much. He is only a year old and he woke up sweating. I had the AC on 77 to cut back a little bit but I had to bring it down to 73 and I prayed the electricity didn't go out. I have to do the same tonight. Hoping Con Ed keeps up

I like it hot & I love summer but the annoying thing about this weather is that it's tough to do anything outside for long (my favorite thing about summer is being able to do stuff outside). With the heat & the humidity you're outside for 2 min & need a break from it. Especially during the day with the sun beating down. Just soaked with sweat & I feel like I need a shower every hour. Makes the kids cranky & tired too. And I HATE being stuck sitting inside in air conditioning all day.. I need fresh air! But even with all that, I'd rather this heat than freezing cold temps & a blizzard.

We definitely had some stretches like this.
I used to not have AC (when I was living alone, mine broke and I never replaced it) and there were some summers where it was so hot! Just like this summer.

I'm a summer baby and LOVE summer...HATE the snow/cold. I went to the gym this morning and then came home and took DD in the pool while DH did work in his garden. It's hot but at least I don't have to run the pool heater  the pool temp was perfect today!

Yes! My pool was amazing. Most years by Aug the pool is getting cold due to those damn cool nights and mornings.
Big savings on propane!
I was outside all day Friday...working from home with my lsptop in tbe yatd, most of the day yesterday and half the day today. (I had a migraine this morning so I was knocked out until noon).
I honestly didn't feel it much. I think I might have ancestors from tropical climates. Or be a descendant of a desert cat!

I am finding it SO oppressive!! I feel like we haven't been able to do anything with the kids these past few days other than the beach. We went to three different restaurants tonight before we found one that had a table indoors - all the others had all their outdoor tables free because it was so blazing hot. The kids missed an annual fair we go to today because I could not tolerate the heat. Our nightly bike rides are cancelled because its just not comfortable.
PLUS the final nail in the heat coffin is my hair!!! Cannot tame that beast.
I am happy its the summer. I am happy when the weather is warm BUT enough with this oppressive humid weather already.

Us too!!! I would MELT if my A/C was in the 70's!!!!
I deplore this weather, I hate summer and I'd gladly take ten feet of snow over this sh1t ANY day!

I actually LOVE it
I feel the same way! AND, I am 39 weeks pregnant! Before I got married, I didn't even own an AC. I soak up the heat and enjoy it as much as I can because it is such a small fraction of the year.

I hate it. I don't think it's any hotter than previous summers but I think we are so over-air conditioned that we cannot tolerate the heat anymore. Summer is especially miserable for me because I run SO hot that I feel physically sick from the heat.

it's been 13 years since the big east coast blackout. Guessing that's when it was this hot last. it's brutal. the electric company's are making it big this summer lol I hate this hot, but like summer.

i was just discussing the blackout with dh. will never forget trying to get home that day omg.
it's interesting to hear that others love the heat like i do, maybe moreso! But maybe i'm just getting old and can't take it like i used to.
