c-section moms
I had my 3rd section almost 6 weeks ago and it's been draining since one week after (so for 5 weeks). I've been to my dr twice and she says it's normal and it's not infected and I just have to wait it out. For anyone else that went through this just wondering how long it took you to finally heal? I'm not sure how much longer I can deal with this.

Re: c-section moms
I think every c-section is different. I also had 3 but c-section #2 was by far the worst. I couldn't walk without pain for like 7 weeks. I expected the same for my 3rd c-section but within a week I was out and about. Hang in there, it'll get better it just might take more time.

Probably since it is the third you are moving around a lot sooner than we did in those blissful days of just a newborn, you are finding that it is draining more because your not giving your body a chance to heal as well. I found this to be a challenge after my second. I tucked one of those maxi pads they gave me in the hospital into my granny panties over my c scar to keep it dry and found it healed much quicker than leaving it open. With all this summer heat and humidity, that may help keep the area dry and promote quicker healing. Good luck!

Re: c-section moms
I had this with my second c-section. I definitely remember still having some drainage at my 6wk pp visit. Doctor said it was normal, esp that I was on my feet so much more by virtue of having 2 at home now to take care of. I folded the chucks pads over the site, found this was gentler than undies rubbing against it and sticking to it. I felt healed by 8 wks. Big difference from 6 to 8 wks pp.

Re: c-section moms
My second section was awful. Mine drained for 2 weeks and than the incision opened up. I had to be reglued. It was just a bad experience. I would keep a pad over the incision taped to me and change it every few hours. After I was reglued it still drained for aboit another week and than finally stopped. Hope you start to heal!

I have had 2 C-sections and with both I think the 8 week mark was when I began to feel relativley "normal". I woudl wash the area and blow dry it on cool every day and like PP said put a gauze or maxi pad over it to keep it dry. I ended up on anti-biotics with both sections for minor infections even with keeping it clean and dry. Its just a tough area to heal especially if you are a little overweight and have a belly fold or have multiple kids and can't rest.
