Tell me about Jeep Patriot

DH and I are about to lease a Jeep Patriot bc we are looking for an affordable SUV with 4x4 capability. It's mostly for DH to drive back and forth to work in Queens and maybe we'd do some family driving to save the miles on our other car that we own (Subaru outback). I've been reading mixed reviews about the patriot and want to hear from others, the good bad and ugly. We have one 16 month old DD and hope to have a second in the near future. Also open to suggestions for other trucks with 4x4 and affordable lease options!

Tell me about Jeep Patriot

My 22 yo DS got one as an early graduation gift and he loves it. He drove it back and forth to Mass for over a year and got great gas mileage. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles but it's affordable. He's 6'4" and has plenty of leg and head room. It was easy for him to maneuver into parking when his apt was downtown. He hasn't ever said anything bad about it, but then again it's a free car so really what would he say.

My dh leased one a few months ago, he's happy with it but I will say it's really difficult to take an infant carrier in and out of the back seat because for some reason the door doesn't open wide enough. I was counting the days that we would move DD into the convertible seat
