Tips for Disney in the Rain
It seems that there is an 80% chance of rain every day we will be there (not just late day showers). I know it's too early to predict the weather but, any tips?
I've bought disposable ponchos from the Dollar Store.

Re: Tips for Disney in the Rain
Never been to Disney but isn't there always an 80% chance of rain every single day in Florida?

True - but, this seems more like an 80% chance of all day rain lol.

Re: Tips for Disney in the Rain
It's the rainy season now. We bought ponchos. Rained for 10-15 minutes and stopped. Some people went into shops. I saw others enjoy the rain with the kids and danced. You make the best of it. Doesn't rain all day.

Tips for Disney in the Rain
Ponchos and patience!! I find in October it rains more at night than during the day. If you are doing the Halloween Party, I would hustle to the trick or treating stations early on in case it rains!

We haven't committed to that yet because it rained so much (abnormal amounts) the day we went and we were soaked (it flooded Main St).
Hoping it's just 15 minutes here and there. We've always gone this time of year (late Sept/early Oct) and only had the issue at the Halloween party in the past...

You just go with it. Bring a towel in case you want to wipe down anything. Wear water shoes. Bring rain coats.
I went to FL this past August. It rained (torrential) for FOUR days straight. Not the typical afternooon showers. It sucked but we made the best of it. Went to the beach in the rain. Going to get wet anyway

Tips for Disney in the Rain
It rained hard one morning when we were there. We had ponchos, a stroller cover, umbrellas, and a change of clothes for each of us (we needed it).

We went around Halloween one year and did not buy tickets to the Halloween party because rain was predicted. Rain was predicted everyday also. We lucked out and there were only 10-15 min showers. I really wish we had just bought the tickets. You can't tell though. I hate not being able to plan!
Also went last year to Orlando Columbus Day weekend. Rain was predicted almost daily but we only got afternoon showers. Was able to do Universal without ever getting wet.
That time of year is really hit or miss.

Yeah - the forecast has changed already and doesn't look as bad as it did originally - more like the 10-15 minute showers.
Still waiting on the Halloween tickets. It would have turned out ok but DH had no patience.

If I remember correctly, we were waiting until we got there to buy tickets to the Halloween party. Even the day before, weather prediction was rain all day so we didn't buy the tickets. It did rain but it wasn't continuous, just short showers here and there.

Re: Tips for Disney in the Rain
Rain ponchos are a must. We stay offsite & change plans if bad forecast. I wrote on another post... We had horrible rain for the Halloween party one year... We never go home early, but did that time and did have to wade through water.

We had ponchos on and it was business as usual. It rains everyday for about 15mins so ponchos are a must.

Tips for Disney in the Rain
It rained when we went in May 2 years ago - but it was predicted to be a huge rainstorm (not just a few showers). It was *awesome* b/c while it rained some, we had ZERO wait for all the rides all morning long. Once it stopped raining (around 1pm) and it started getting more crowded, we went to Tomorrowland, where it isn't as packed, and rode those rides without lines.

Re: Tips for Disney in the Rain
go to walmart or kmart and buy the $1 ponchos. They fit in your pockets for easy carry. I usually buy 4 ponchos for each person traveling with me. (its still cheaper than buy 1 poncho for everyone in the park) if we use it...we throw it out at the end of the day and start with a new one the next morning.
we take advantage of the parks in the rain, because they tend to clear out when it rains

Tips for Disney in the Rain
Thank you everyone. The rain held out - it only rained for a short time every day and we were out of the park by then.
Now we just need to get home before Matthew!

We were able to switch our flight from tomorrow morning to 6pm tonight. The roads close at 5pm and the airport at 8pm so I'm hoping the flight gets out! It's taxiing at JFK right now.
