Infertility Acupuncture
Hi Ladies,
I am gearing up for ivf cycle #2 after going through my 3rd D&C on Tuesday. My journey is an interesting one to say the least. I have one son who was conceived naturally a few years ago and since then I've had a suspected ectopic, loss at 13 weeks due to chromosome abnormality, blighted ovum followed by a missed miscarriage and a failed ivf cycle under my belt now. I am 35 and my fsh, amh and afc numbers are all great so no idea why I had such a poor response to the meds, I only made 4 eggs of which I only ended up with one blast on day 7 to test which we knew wasn't going to be great and it wasn't, pgs testing confirmed a trisomy.
Anyway back to my original question, can anyone recommend an infertility acupuncture clinic that is highly reputable? I figure I should give it a shot, can't hurt.
Thanks!!

Infertility Acupuncture
I went to Dr. Yang in Hicksville. My opinion is eh. She was good but it made no difference, just cost me a ton of money. I wouldn't recommend it because I haven't been able to find enough data and studies that it is an evidence based practice that is effective. HOWEVER, that is me. Being on the boards, there are tons of ladies on here who have done acupuncture and swear by it. Helped with conception and morning sickness. For me, it unfortunately didn't work and I needed to use a fertility specialist to conceive. Lots of women on here also used Andy Kaplan who everyone RAVES about. Located in RVC but too far for me! Good luck!!!

Infertility Acupuncture
I loved Andrea at LI holistic in Babylon. I conceived naturally for my second Pregnancy while going there.
My first pregnancy was ivf and I saw Mary at Yinova in the city, which was amazing but not sure if you'd go to the city.

Re: Infertility Acupuncture
I also went to LI holistic in Babylon when TTC DD1. Ended up getting pregnant on my first IVF cycle with accupuncture. Not sure if the acupuncture contributed to my successful IVF cycle, but I have always been irregular and had normal cycles while doing it.

Re: Infertility Acupuncture
I am in a similar boat- conceived of my daughter naturally a few years ago and although of "advanced maternal age" (I am older than you) have had excellent numbers - and was told I would be a prime candidate for PGS testing- as I had such good numbers- they could weed out any abnormal eggs. I have had 3 retrievals now- with 14 eggs retrieved the first time (only one testable (making it to blast) - which was not good) but then 2 subsequent- with 2 transfers (after 22 and then 20 eggs, respectively, retrieved (3 making it to blast on the last one with 20 eggs). The two transfers were of chromosomally normal embryos- which should have had a 50-60% chance (at least) of attaching, and "working" but they didn't (last one was a disappointment only last week). I thought since I have my beautiful girl things would have just worked with a healthy, tested embryo- but did not. So, I am starting acupuncture with an appt next week- a first one. I left a message somewhere else a while ago- but they didn't respond and I was not completely committed to the idea anyway. I started to take COQ10 and figured to see how that goes (then got good numbers- and ratios of healthy eggs). Now I will have a new protocol to see what will help with implantation of my last embryo from my last retrieval (FET). waiting to see if my new protocol (of anti-immune, progesterone shots early, baby aspirin, prednesone, anti-biotics and uterine scraping) work for this "last egg in a basket" (will take a break for a bit- as the cost of the meds are so prohibitive- as I will have med insurance only if I leave where I am currently- but have not had any coverage for teh meds since my first cycle- which was sort of a scammy thing with the prescription carrier with my insurance).
Anyway, sorry for the book. I was referred to - and will be going for the first time- to Dorothy Wong. She has locations in Manhattan and New Hyde Park.
Good luck with whomever you opt to go to. I feel as though acupuncture may not always work - but can only help (I have heard of it helping at least).
