Botox

I'm seriously considering doing Botox. It's not terribly noticeable yet, but I have some lines on my forehead and one in between my eyebrows. It bothers me so much and it's all I see when I look in the mirror lately. I just worry about the frozen Botox look, I don't want that either.

Does it really work? Will the lines disappear? How long does it usually last? And who do I go to to have this done? I'm in Suffolk and I'm clueless lol

I loooooooove Botox. I go approx every 3 mos. I just do my forehead. Been going about a year and a half. My forehead is so smooth. It wears off after about 3 mod, you can start feeling the muscle movement coming back. It's not frozen at all, I can't explain it. There a lot of movement, but I just can't wrinkle it anymore, which causes the wrinkles from worsening. It's not like a filler, it just freezes the muscle.

I do my forehead too. I actually don't start noticing a big difference until around 5 months. It makes a huge difference, especially in the deep frown line above my nose but definitely does look frozen. I think you really have to do a lot of your face to get that look.

I do my forehead, around the eyes and around the lips. I started about a year ago when I noticed the "11s" starting to come in. Like other posters, I go every 3-4 months. (It all depends on how your body metabolizes it and supposedly the longer you use it, the less frequently you have to go.)

I couldn't tell you if I look frozen or not. I've never asked anybody and I'm sure they're not about to tell me if I do. Chat Icon

Your results are awesome. I would love to do this, but my DH would definitely not be onboard.

Thanks. He wouldn't even know. My friends do it, and their husbands have no clue. I tell dh, because it's not a big deal.
I go to a dermatology office. I wouldn't trust any of those Botox parties or salons. I either see my actual Derm or his nurse practitioner who does it.

I go to Dr. Marotta in Smithtown. I kinda' wish I could find someone closer to me just from a convenience stand point.

Maybe I'll look into to. I am still BFing my DS so I would have to wait a bit. We are down to one nursing session a day so hopefully soon!!!!

Typically from $10-15 per unit. Most visits I'm getting minimum 15-20 units.

Re: Botox

I think I pay around $20 a unit and I usually get 50-55 units (but again, I do my forehead, eyes/crows feet and around my lips). I average about $900 just for Botox and that's with an Allergan "discount." I put discount in quotes because it's a freaking joke how much I get discounted...maybe 50 bucks.
