ART methods used/result: First IVF cycle was in February. They retrieved 8 follies, 5 fertilized, but only 1 made it to transfer. Unfortunately, it resulted in a chemical pregnancy. We're planning to try another cycle over the summer.

Recommendation to RE 42yr with high FSH

Hi I am new here. I am 42yr-old healthy and been in treatment for a yr and a half. Had 7 unsuccessful IUI (2 with clomid) with Dr. Zapantis. Switch to Dr. Trivax in Mineola had 1 IUI with no medication; then tried injections (gonal f and menopur) decided not to have another IUI so we had natural sex at home - pregnancy test was negative. FSH fluctuates from 8-40 so GHI has denied both IVF request that we submitted.

Saw Dr. Cohen with North Shore Manhasset. I brought all the medical records he quickly skimmed through it and told me that due to my age I would never be able to conceive with my own eggs. I was devastated and angry at him as the only option he gave me was donor eggs. I believe in my heart that I am able to get pregnant with my own eggs and with the right doctor. I have tried acupuncture and worked with a nutritionist for the past 3 months and my FHS were good.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone of you can recommend a good RE who has been successful in helping women who are having difficulty getting pregnant. I am not from this area so I don't really now. Thank you so much! I look forward to hearing from other women who are in this journey. Maria

Hi Maria..hope your stay here is short.

I would recommend Dr. Tortoriello from SIRM. He's in Manhattan though but he thinks outside the box. Good luck!

Re: Intro Thread

Hello families,
My name is Bree, I'm 38 and my husband Chris (39) and I have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years. For this last almost year, we have been using a fertility doctor. My insurance would only cover two IUI's which were both unsuccessful. Chat Icon since the IUI's, my doctor allowed me to use clomid, with timed intercouse. My doctor said we could try this for 6 months but then we need to try something else, which of course isn't covered through insurance. Currently I'm on my last month of clomid, and I ovulated yesterday November 14. Fingers crossed and a lot of prayers.
Trying to figure out other options, we are changing our insurance company so that we could have more IUIs only this time we will need injectables, which again isn't covered. Of course I'm hoping it doesn't come to that and we get pregnant this month.
Please include me in your prayers, as we are desperate to start a family. We've always dreamed or pictured ourselves with 3 children but at this point we'd be over the moon excited with even 1.
My friend Jessica told me to check out this forum because she said it helped her so much a couple of years ago. Now she is pregnant with her 3rd child, so I'm not giving up hope. Thank you to anyone who's reading this and keeping us in their prayers.
Never giving up,
Bree Danielle

Intro Thread

Hi so my infertility journey is about to start
I am 30 DH is 36 and m at the beginning Of this year they found a cyst on my ovaries that I had remove during the summer. My doctor though it was endometriosis but it came out negative but he said it was pretty similar. While there they did the test for my tubes and one is completely block the other is almost fully block (hard time for the transition to happen). I'm scared anxious. I always saw myself as a mother and the thought that can't happen is devasting. We have our first appointment with a fertility doctor on the 29 and would be checking a second one the week after (is that normal to check around??) I m in Florida. I am also so concern about the financial part of it I don't know how we are going to do it
I will appreciate any words of encouragement/ advice and keep me in your prayers
