nauseous

Hi ladies,

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and i'm very nauseous! I'm not complaining because I have had so many miscarriages and the blighted ovum that any symptoms to me are a good sign!!

But can you give any suggestions of things besides saltines that I can have to help? Maybe something that really worked for you.

TIA!

Time! I started feeling better around 10 weeks. If it gets really bad, you can get meds from your OB. Congrats! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Seltzer really helped me. Also mints and minty gum.
I was pretty nauseous from 7-11 weeks. Week 10-11 was the worst and I started feeling better between week 11-12. Significantly better by week 13.
Hang in there!!! Chat Icon

nauseous

Carbs were pretty much the only thing that sounded even slightly appealing for me during the first trimester. Also I found the preggie pop drops helped me a lot when I was feeling pretty awful. I usually ordered them on Amazon but they have them at buy buy baby too.

My doctor told me Unisom and Vit B6 together is the active ingredient in the prescription Zofran, so if I was feeling Nauseous, to take this.

Also ginger candies helped out tremendously when I was nauseous from vertigo

Ginger ale and all the carbs in the world- pretzels, bagels, saltines, breads of all kinds. I also found my nausea was triggered by my very sensitive nose so I carried mints and gum on me at all times. Good luck- it's really hard to deal with!

Keep crackers or something similar on your nightstand. The nausea is worse on an empty stomach. I would nibble on a few as soon as I got up in the morning just to get something in my stomach. I had bad m/s with both my pregnancies. I'm 4w right now and praying it's not bad this time around.

Just a note that what works for one person, won't work for others. I couldn't do anything carbonated during either of my pregnancies. It caused me to get terrible stomach aches. Anything with sugar (like Jolly Ranchers) made me more nauseous. Gum also was really bad for me - both the sugars/artificial sweetners and the chewing. I tried it all. I was just basically nauseous for a month straight and then it went away. Carbs helped a little for the instant, but then once it hit my stomach, it made me nauseous. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I have been similar to this! Sweets and carbs actually trigger nausea for me. I do best with cheese, nuts, eggs, real food over snacks. True about the empty stomach!
