Legos question

My boys aren't huge into Legos, but when they do play they like to make their own creations. My problem is everything comes packaged to make something specific and my boys could care less about creating a Minecraft scene o r star wars. I just wind up opening the bags and putting it into one container.

Unless we're making something big they don't care about the worlds. Are my boys the only one or do the kids follow the directions?

ETA - they love Star Wars or Minecraft, but really makes no difference what it is the box tells us to make

Legos question

My ds does both. We buy kits but he also has a bunch of classics and free builds all the time.

Legos question

see... my DS ( who is 6) is the exact opposite!! He seems to get a little overwhelmed when you put a bunch of random legos in front of him LOL he does WAY better with the kits, directions- i think he likes to have a goal HAHA
we bought my in-laws house from them when they moved out of state. they saved ALL ( i'm talking several big bins!) of DH's legos from when he was growing up... my DS hardly touches them, because he does better with the sets and something to build. i'm thinking i should print out some pictures online to give him ideas of stuff to build LOL

Re: Legos question

DC have always loved making their own creations, even when we have the kits.

Legos question

My son likes both - kits and free play. I have bins that separate each color and he likes grabbing a few colors and just making up stuff. Then he'll mix his creations with the kits that he's put together.
