Could it be start of the Flu??
DD came home from school Friday because she was complaining of a tummy ache. She never threw up but her older sister did the night before so we thought she was getting it too. They were both fine all weekend, no complaints from either. Today the nurse called to say younger DD was complaining of tummy ache again. I thought she was trying to get out of school. But she was still complaining at after care today and they called me too. We're home now and she's resting. No fever and no vomit but still says her belly hurts and she does look a little pale and tired. Did anyone's DC have similar symptoms and have it turn into the flu?? I'm trying to figure out what is going on!

Re: Could it be start of the Flu??
It sounds like a stomach bug that is just lingering. That is still making the rounds unfortunately.
If it was the flu it would be full blown for them by now. When I got the flu I felt like I was coming down with something on Tues morning and by Wed morning it was full blown flu.

Re: Could it be start of the Flu??
Flu is a respiratory illness so she'd have other symptoms of a respiratory nature by now.
Be on the look out for strep as well. DD has strep and only had stomach pain, headache, general lethargy (very slight and it came and went) and a slight sore throat- no fever.
I have heard of strep manifesting in children as just stomach pain too

Could it be start of the Flu??
I would think stomach virus is most likely. When my 4yo had it on Christmas it was an all day stomach ache and she was moaning, groaning, pale, not eating. She threw up once late afternoon and was better the next day.
The one time she had step it started with a stomach ache and she threw up once. She had a very mild fever too.

yes my daughter complained of a stomach ache and threw up, she also had a high fever and was lethargic thou. She tested positive for the flu last week. She didn't start coughing or sneezing until a few days in.

Sounds like the stomach virus. It's rampant right now, seriously.

These are the symptoms DS 1 gets as well when he has strep.
Hoping that if it's anything - it's strep since it's a pretty speedy recovery once meds are started!
