HCG intramuscular or subcutaneous?

So, I have to trigger tonight. And since my last ivf was back in June I asked the nurse to refresh me on the trigger shot. She tells me how to combine the powder with the liquid and then to inject in my belly.
I was surprised she said in my belly since last time I remember suffering with the long needle in my upper hip.

I had to asked her again and she confirmed it was in the belly.

Did I do it wrong last time?

I wanted to see if anyone was instructed to do it intramuscular.

I've only ever done it in the belly. Only intramuscular was progesterone.

I always injected it in my belly. PIO was the only shot I injected IM.

I've done it both ways. Lucky you could do it in your belly!

i've heard it being done both ways. but when I did IVF both times it was in my belly. when my OB did my IUI's (before I did IVF) he injected it in my upper arm, also subcutaneously.

Ovidril is sub-cu (just the skin) but Novarel is IM. When in doubt, call the nurse. And good luck

I remember being confused too- the nurse specifically told me subcutaneous but even the package said IM. the nurse had told me if you're under a certain weight you can do it in your stomach. good luck!
