Something is very fishy in this case and isn't sitting well with me at all!
this. I don't think the man they arrested is the actual killer. the man being lead out in cuffs, was smiling and looked visually off. I don't think hes dealing with a full deck. I think hes just a scapegoat. what killer is willing to hand over DNA? I wouldn't.
Someone not dealing with a full deck.
ETS: The DNA matches so he is the killer. How they got that DNA may be questionable. The confession doesn't mean anything. I remember the Central Park Jogger case. They also "confessed".

...one that is mentally not all there would probably hand it over.

I also feel very weird about this case..I think something is off about it.
Maybe I watch too much tv crime shows and maybe the Steven Avery case makes me question it after they got his nephew to confess with details to something he didn't do and he was also slow.
But the guy in the sketch don't look like him and no facial hair and the person looks lost or special needs. I really hope this is the right man.

There is definitely more to the story. I'm not sure what is going on but it doesn't sit right. There's already a lot of controversy on social media.

Brendan Dassey from the Avery case also gave details. He had a low IQ and they fed him information about what happened and he agreed to it. He didn't understand what he was doing and told them what they wanted to hear so he can go back to school as he said.

I hope it is him because if not they are railroading someone and the real monster is out there.
The sketch does not look like him, not that means hes innocent but it does not. I feel like its one of the cases where "all xx people look the same" kind of deal.

Very true.
There are a lot of unanswered questions. The police have been under pressure to solve it. I would just hate for them to have the wrong person. Justice rarely works in favor of the mentally ill, especially in a high profile case like this. He looks nothing like the sketch. He could have been pressured under duress and not even understand what he is saying.

Arrest made in death of jogger, Karina Vetrano
The whole thing was odd from day one. I know people that know the father- he is "connected". A lot of speculation that someone killed her to get "even" with him. Some are speculating he did it. I don't think he did it. But it is odd that he worked so close with police as well. Some are saying dirty work behind the NYPD. But at the same time, this kid. Just because he was an honor student doesn't mean anything. He could have done it too. I don't kow what to think. It's all very odd.

SO I read a little more. Apparently, Lewis was seen 3 times the previous year exhibiting odd behavior. Walking around with a crowbar in the neighborhood? Who the heck knows.

Yes, but in this instance, the NYPD and medical examiner's office would have to be planting evidence. We've always known that they had DNA from the crime. Lewis's DNA was found under her nails, on her back, and on her cell phone.
He also sought medical attention the day after her murder, claiming he'd been attacked. Based upon the information provided immediately following her rape and murder, we knew it was highly likely her murderer had some type of injuries as a result of her fighting him off.

The other thing is she was fit, strong and in great shape. Lewis looks scrawny as hell.

I'm not buying into conspiracy/svu/rigged NYPD cops
Dna does not lie
And I also heard they had suspects about this guy before. They had been watching him so it wasn't out of the blue

Let's not martyr the NYPD just yet. all I am saying is I hope they did everything on the up and up and they do indeed have the correct perpetrator. That's not an unreasonable request, is it?

Exactly! It's either his DNA or its not. I don't think his size plays into it. She was caught off guard and I'm sure his strength was over powering because he was on the attack. I hope justice is served!

I'm in great shape (lift, run, cycle DAILY) and I'm pretty sure I could not take on any man regardless of their size. They are just stronger than females.
-----
I teach forensics and will say if they found DNA evidence that matches his, they have a strong case. I am sure they are not relying on his confession.

Goodness!!
Seriously, comparisons to SVU? You realize those are overblown fictional accounts of fictional crimes written to maximize ratings? It's a TV show.
This forum can't help itself! DNA doesn't lie. There is nothing fishy here - excellent work by the NYPD.

This is actually symptomatic of this whole board. It is so liberal that even if someones DNA is found on a dead body and in a crime scene, and the person was placed at the crime scene acting suspiciously, going all the way back to 2014 when the police first received complaints about him in the area, it still can't mean he's guilty! Has to be a setup by the NYPD. Come on already!
