Feedback on Commack and surrounding areas
We currently live in Queens and I am from Bethpage. Both DH and I work in suffolk. We are considering moving to the Commack/Dix Hills/Hauppauge area. Good middle and high schools are top priority for our DDs who are both smart so we are looking for honors/AP and lots of extra programs. Does anyone have feedback on these towns and any areas to avoid? Does the proximity to Brentwood or Wyandanch affect these towns?

Re: Feedback on Commack and surrounding areas
I live in smithtown
All the towns you listed have really good school systems. I dont think you would go wrong in any of those. Dix Hills is Half Hollow Hills which I believe is bigger district than the other 2 listed.
Good Luck

Re: Feedback on Commack and surrounding areas
Half hollow is a really big ( good) district, it includes dix hills and parts of Melville, wyandanch, and deer park, it has 2 high schools, east and west. Commack is good too, And not a small district but not as big as half hollow. So if district size is a consideration I should look into that. Parts of dix hills and east north port go to commack. I don't think u can wrong with either district academically.

I would chose Commack of all those. And no, the proximity of those areas does not effect Commack.

I live in Commack. You cannot go wrong with any of the areas you mentioned. Parts of Dix Hills, E. Northport and Smithtown go to Commack schools. There is no issue with the proximity to Brentwood or Wyandach. Feel free to FM me with any questions you mayhave

Friends of ours just moved to East Northport. Literally blocks from commack (Where they were originally looking) Lovely homes, great neighborhood and shes a teacher, so she did her homework on the kind of district they wanted for their future children.

One of my bff's just bought in Commack. Great neighborhood, great schools.
If DH and I ever moved out to Suffolk, that would be the town I'd pick.

Feedback on Commack and surrounding areas
We also left Queens and we chose Commack. We are from neighboring towns, though, so we knew we couldn't go wrong with many towns in the area. But we like that it has EVERYTHING! And the parkways are close.
