Do you track your credit score?
Do you routinely keep track of your credit report/score?
I use CreditKarma, so I check mine out on a regular basis, and my Discover card shows my my FICO score for free whenever I want.

Re: Do you track your credit score?
Yup. With credit karma
Though I will say it's annoying when we charge a lot for something. It immediately goes down a bunch until it's paid. So now I look after I know it's paid lol

Yup, like a crazy hawk. Creditkarma, chase and capital one... I like to make sure they are all around the same, lol.

Re: Do you track your credit score?
I use credit karma too. But it doesn't update. I know I paid down some bills and my score didn't change. How often does it update??
Just checked and it went up 2 points lol.

Re: Do you track your credit score?
I use credit karma and I obsessively check it when I pay down bills to get satisfaction from gaining a few points.

Re: Do you track your credit score?
It's 3am and I can't sleep. More in the morning.
Credit Karma is what's called a Fako score. It's an estimate of your real FICO score. If you google "credit karma fako" it will come up. It's not a scam just NOT your real score.
Go to (not sure at 3am) annualcreditreport.com I THINK. I WILL CORRECT WHEN I GET A SEC. The credit bureau must give one free look to your credit a year. Space out the reports every 4 months. You will be able to check your report every 4 months then.

Re: Do you track your credit score?
Yes, every few months I pay for my report and score on myFICO.com, in addition to getting my report annually on annual creditreport.com.
If you want to know how lenders see you, I wouldn't suggest using credit karma. They use a different scoring model and it will not be accurate. I see credit reports daily and constantly have people complaining that their score should be much higher b/c they checked it on credit karma or b/c their credit card statement had a higher score on it.

Yeah, I realize that it's not an actual FICO score, but it does give useful info, and it does line up fairly close to all of my other credit sources (Discover FICO score, credit reports, annual credit report from annualcreditreport, etc). Just one more tool in the toolbox, as long as you know what it does and doesn't do.

I could not agree more. The problem is most people DON'T know that its not "real".
Its fantastic as a tool, but its not the real picture either.

Re: Do you track your credit score?
I do but through my CC companies and banks. They're all required to provide updated scores for free so it gives me 6 scores to compare.

Do you track your credit score?
I look at mine through my credit cards. We recently bought a car and they ran my credit and it was pretty spot on.

Do you track your credit score?
I get my scores from both my mortgage company and my credit cards. While both rank my score as "Excellent," the score on my cc is about 50 points higher than my mortgage score. Is that odd?
