Prek question. Sorry long.

Dd has been in daycare since she was 12 weeks old. I pulled her out in Oct because I was laid off and have decided to become a sahm since we are moving OOS in early 2018. Either Jan of Feb.

Before we pulled dd from daycare we had a meeting with daycare as they expressed concerned that dd was extremely hyperactive and her speech seemed delayed. We had her evaluated through the district in late June and she didn't qualify so we put her in private speech and OT.

We just had her evaluated again through the district and she qualified for OT and since she qualified for OT I pushed till they gave her speech as well. She starts district services next month. She will be 4 in early May.

Anyway, the district suggested we only put her in half day upk because they are worried that she wouldn't do well in full day upk. Part time is M-f for 2.5hrs while FT is 7hrs.

She went in for an evaluation at the nearby Catholic school and was accepted to the prek program through them. It's also free and M-F for 5.5hrs.

Gut feeling is to go with the Catholic school program because I just got a good feeling from them but now I'm 2nd guessing myself and don't want to negatively impact dd. Problem is if she has problems in the Catholic school program I can't switch her to the public school program.

She will get OT for a year and Speech for 6 through an outside service and get re-evaluated. She has each 2x a week.

How do I make a decision? Dh says he'll go with whatever I decide since I'm the one who brings her to all her appts.

If you think the Catholic school will be proactive in helping your daughter, then go for it. My son will be four in June and will continue to have speech. His teachers work with him to include him in social settings, they pay extra attention to understand his stories etc. His main issue is articulation fyi. Speech is also twice a week.

Articulation is also dd's only issue.
