Year later LASIK question
I got LASIK a while ago - both eyes May 2015 and left eye correction in Nov 2015 because he purposely undercorrected it to see if it helps with my close up vision. I hated the under correction because when I walked around it was obvious that one eye was perfect and the other wasn't. It was hard to focus on stuff in the distance. He fixed it and I haven't had many issues since then. (Although to be honest I hate that I had it done bc of dry eye and other issues.)
I noticed yesterday that I was having the same weird vision issues before when it was undercorrected - except now it's the same eye but close up vision is blurry. When I look at things in the distance it's ok, but close up and I get that wonky feel from one eye being fine and the other not.
Anyone had issues a year + after the surgery? There's no way I'm going back for another correction - I'm hoping maybe it's dry eye and I can just use drops. I also moved to a new place that's bright at night and I've been sleeping with an eye mask. I'm wondering if the pressure from the mask is messing with my eye.

Re: Year later LASIK question
I would def go to the doctor and see what's up. I had lasik almost 2 years ago and everything is perfect. However, my mother in law had it right before me and went through a ton of issues. Her eyes were insanely dry and she had to use tears every 30 min. She wound up having to go in for a correction not long ago. I think it definitely has improved for her but still not perfect. Honestly if I had known about her issues before I had mine, I wouldn't have done it - would have been too scared.

Re: Year later LASIK question
My girlfriend had this done years ago and her eyesight changed since, and she has to wear glasses now. I am not sure if it is because of a nearsighted or farsighted problem. My eyesight is terrible and always wanted to get it done but after she told me of what happened to her and she has to wear glasses, I decided against it. Not sure if this is the same as you. It sounds as though maybe you are having a problem reading close up and maybe need reading glasses?

I'll definitely need that soon since I'm 46, but I thought it was weird that my vision was fine and then one morning it's not. We just moved to another state and DH's insurance doesn't kick in for another 2 weeks so I'll make an appt to see someone then. I was just wondering if anyone else had random issues pop up more than a year after the procedure.

This is my exact situation. I def have wear glasses to drive now. I don't know if it was because I was still young when I got it done (got it done almost 13 years ago).

My friend had her's done quite a while ago, years back. She has to wear glasses, but the other thing with her, not sure this is for everyone, she can't wear contacts instead of glasses, as the shape of her eye now from Lasik changed. Not sure if I am remembering what she told me exactly, but something to that effect.

How old are you? It may just be time for reading glasses. Most people, even with Lasik, will typically need reading glasses at some point.

Same here. Got it done in 1996, by 2004 I needed glasses to drive. It has been getting worse... now I also need glasses to watch TV. Sometimes I wear disposable contact lenses.

Year later LASIK question
I'd go in for a check. I had mine done when I was 23 and I'm 38 now and still have perfect vision.
