Ocean City, MD hotels
We're thinking of going to Ocean City MD in August. Can anyone recommend a hotel? Something that's centrally located near things to do. We're just starting our research now so I have no idea where to stay, what to do, etc. Any experienced vacationers feel free to give me input! Thank you!!

Re: Ocean City, MD hotels
We're staying at the Park Place Hotel this year. They are completing some renovations that we are excited about. We also like the Commander Hotel and the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites. I usually check out oceancity.com or ococean.com to compare them and look at ones in the area we like to be in.

i have been there many many times. when we were younger, my family (+ extended fam) rented condos in the same building. you got much more for your money, full kitchen, but had to bring sheets/towels, etc. we use cbvacations.com to find our rentals.
we have stayed up by 95th street, however that is not really near the majority of the attractions. the boardwalk will be most crowded, i think the ideal spot would be somewhere in 40s-70th street. i am going back this summer but haven't been there in over 5 years. i have also stayed at the princess royale which was very nice.
my only absolute recommendation is dumsers dairyland for ice cream :)

We're staying at the holiday Inn at the boardwalk. It's great for kids. They have an awesome pool area and it's in a great location.

We stayed at the Hilton a few years ago. It was nice. There is a new Marriott in OC. I want to say it is Courtyard Inn. I think it is right on the boardwalk.
We are now a family of five and decided to rent a condo for the first time via vrbo with some friends.

I took your recommendation on the hilton a few years ago and we loved the hotel so much. We are going back to the hilton ocean suite resorts again this summer. The kids love the outdoor pool, an i love how they run different activities throughput the day for kids ...arts and crafts, cooking, movie night etc. And its right on the beach.
