Vacation Ideas
DH and I have decided to do Disney next year ... but want to go somewhere this summer with our soon to be 5 year old DD and 7 year old DS. Something like Hershey Park where we can drive and stay one or two nights. We did Dutch Wonderland 2 years ago , but that might be too juvenile. Is Great Wolf better to do in the colder weather months? Any other suggestions of places to go?

Re: Vacation Ideas
I wouldn't do Great Wolf, I'd do Kalahari but yes, I'd save that for winter or fall or spring. In summer I want to be outdoors
I would try Hershey for those ages if you think they are getting too old for DW. That seems perfect

Wildwood is fun! Morey's Piers has tons of rides, a couple of waterparks, is very clean, and on the beach. The Starlux is a cute retro motel.

Re: Vacation Ideas
We got to Hershey Park in the summer for a couple of days. From where we live in NJ the drive is only about 2.5 hours. For that age it's perfect! Lots of great rides and even Hershey World is cute to walk around. We did the Hershey Museum too.

Re: Vacation Ideas
Are you set on rides?
Rye playland is a day trip, but you can make it an overnight if you choose. Admission is very inexpensive (compared to adventureland), rides are great and classic. I'd combo with something in Connecticut. The aquarium is small but nice (Norwalk). Lots of hotels in the area... many with pools.

Pack your patience for that place, it's packed in the Summer and the lines are like an hour long! It's nuts
