Gifts for Teachers
So what are you guys buying your kids teachers for end of year gifts?
I usually buy gift cards but thought I might do something different this year.
Thank you.

Re: Gifts for Teachers
I got adorable beach totes in Barnes & noble for dd's dance teachers and PT. I am also putting a towel and a beach-themed journal in the one for the PT.
For her teacher, I got a really nice leather zip pouch from the coach outlet. Came out to $40 and it looks really nice. Kind of want one for myself!

Last year I did a smores gift bag with chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows. I also threw in a $25 gift card.

This is the best end of year thank you a teacher can get! Thank you for taking the time to do this! As a teacher, getting a letter acknowledging my hard work and dedication is priceless.

I agree. So thoughtful. I'm sure every teacher would appreciate this more than anything.

This!
I just got a note and a gift card from one of my 6th graders. The letter that he wrote to me was the best part!

Gifts for Teachers
I have 3 kids and my son gets services so I have a total of 11 teachers plus aids that I buy for. This year I bought 2 beach towels and 2 sets of makeup bags from Vera Bradley. I also went to the christmas tree shop and bought beach towels. For his therapists I bought lotion and soap at Marshalls. I also buy thank you cards and write a personalized message in each card to each teacher thanking them for what they have done and how my child has grown since being in the class.

It's very thoughtful but Can you imagine how many totes, make up bags and lotions teachers get each year? Honestly I think gift cards ( coffee, Amazon, Barnes and noble, etc) or cash are the way to go with a nice note/letter.

I did this for my daughter's second grade teacher during Teacher Appreciation Week, and she expressed how much she appreciated it!

I have letters and cards parents, students, and staff have written for me going back to my first year of teaching in 2003. Most of the gifts are long gone but the letters have remained for those rainy days when I need a reminder.

Re: Gifts for Teachers
For preschool, which consisted of 5 different teachers for one child (diff activities): 3 got nice potted flowers, the 2 main teachers will get DD gift cards
For elem school: the teacher has two young kids, so I got a beach tote filled with stuff for her boys, like water soakers, bubbles, chalk, glow bracelets, etc.

Ok but the problem with gift card is that gcs usually come in $10 or $25 denomination, and other than day care workers, I don't think that cash is appropriate at all to give to providers. My district strictly prohibits it. $10 is kinda cheap but I can't blow through $100 for 4 people bumping them to $25 each. So I look for things in the $15 range. And even if it's a duplicate, the person knows I put some effort into it. I've gotten some 'interesting' and not useful end of the year gifts being an educator but I do like to think about the families making some effort, esp if I know cash is low or they have a lot of people to get for. And yes, I agree that those student letters are the best gifts ever!

Gifts for Teachers
How about some chocolates or cookies or something else edible. Even if they don't eat it, I'm sure their spouse or kids or someone else will eat it.
