There was.
I have a memebership to both- don't ask... 
Costco pros:
Better selection of "other" items...like clothes, snow and rain boots, beach gear, gifts, etc.
Cons:
ALWAYS packed. ALWAYS. the one by me, no matter when you go, it's freaking insane.
No express lines
No self check out
Not sure if they take manufacturer coupons or not.
BJ's
Pros:
Less crowded
Express lines so if I have 12 items or less I am not stuck behind a person with 2 carts full
Self check out- LOVE!
Love their meat
Love their cakes
Can use manufacturer coupons and stack with BJ's coupons
I like the Berkeley and Jensen generic brand better than the Kirkland brand- but that's just me
Half price greeting cards and stationary items
